Thanks, I was going to post about this new horror, but you beat me to it. Apparently Trump and his best buddy Vlad are both escalating nuclear ambitions. Geez, it’s now hard to decide which one should get the Nobel Peace Prize! Maybe they could share it!

President Donald Trump on Thursday urged congressional Republicans to unilaterally end the government shutdown by eliminating the Senate filibuster — urging them to take an unprecedented step that GOP leaders have firmly opposed until now.
“It is now time for the Republicans to play their ‘TRUMP CARD,’ and go for what is called the Nuclear Option — Get rid of the Filibuster, and get rid of it, NOW!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
This really sets the stage for ending Medicaid and SNAP. And they will own it. They cannot blame it on Democrats in any way.
Nonsense.
Their propaganda aimed at former recipients will totally blame the elimination on the Democrats.
And meanwhile, in the propaganda aimed at “good R people tired of paying for freeloaders” they will totally take credit for the elimination.
The nice part about rampant lying is that you’re not limited to just one set of fakes. Out in the real world there is just one version of the truth. But there are as many versions of fake facts as you’re willing to create and promote.
The post-truth world is a place where most of traditional logic and decision-making is simply impossible. That’s on purpose. It dis-empowers everyone except the inner circle.

John Clarke, one of the three scientists who shared this year’s Nobel Prize in physics for which Trump is claiming credit had this to say about Trump’s devotion to science:
Clarke earlier expressed alarm at the Trump administration’s mass firings of government scientists and sweeping funding cuts to science and medicine research programs, describing them as “an immensely serious problem” that’s “entirely beyond any understanding of anyone who is a scientist.”
“This will cripple much of United States science research,” he told AFP. “It is going to be disastrous if this continues. Assuming that the present administration finally comes to an end, it may take a decade to get back to where we were, say, half a year ago.”
I’m calling it now: within six months, they will conduct a nuclear test. But Trump, of course, doesn’t know that all such tests are underground tests. He’ll be so disappointed about how it looks, he’ll demand an above ground test, nonw now NOW!
Let’s do it the old-fashioned way: tether some farm animals a few hundred feet away from the test(s) and then observe them over the next few months as their skin and body parts fall off. Better yet… FITB.*

I wouldn’t be surprised if he does an open air test in California just because he despises California. Same reason he dumped our water.
Well the freeloaders part is true. Waste and fraud pretty much covers all poor people. Losers. You have to be blind or missing a limb to get Medicaid.
It’s a good bet that Trump will much prefer atmospheric nuclear testing because, hey, it’s a photo-op that will feature himself, whereas underground testing provides nothing to see. If he orders this and the military complies, the madman is effectively declaring war on the entire planet. Radioactive fallout was a big problem in the 50s when both the US and the USSR were carrying out atmospheric testing.
Just for one example, radioactive strontium-90 was being found in milk and other dairy products, which is very problematic both because of its relatively long half-life of 28 years, and biologically a big problem because of its chemical similarity to calcium, causing the body to absorb it into the bone structure. The only potentially good thing if he tries to do this is that it may trigger a revolt within the military and maybe the madman may finally be removed from office, although I realize that’s a very optimistic leap of faith.
