Doesn’t seem minor to me. It seems absolutely batshit insane.
I think his “meds” wore off, and in a few minutes he won’t remember ranting it.
But now, the naive part:
Uh, can he do that? Tell a network what to air?
I don’t think so.
AIUI, Executive Orders are presidential interpretations of how existing Federal laws will be executed by the Executive Branch (or directly rooted in the Constitution). I kind of doubt that there is an existing law which could be bent, even ludicrously, to do what he is directing in that EO. But, if someone can prove me wrong on that, please do.
Thr problem for Trump is enforcement.
He keeps on threatening to take away broadcast licenses, but his FCC hasn’t done it yet. I’ve posted on this before. It is hard for MAGA’s on the FCC because none of the most valuable network-owned stations have their licenses up for renewal in the next year or two.
Of course, he no longer has a need to pull the CBS licenses.

AIUI, that ship is currently at the bottom of the Gulf of America being eaten by brainship worms.
Also, for what it’s worth:
so this National Event stands above Commercial Postseason Games. No other Game or Team can violate this Time Slot!!!
…is, frankly, relatively meaningless. This past season (2025), there was, in fact, a bowl game played on the same day as the Army-Navy Game (Saturday, December 13): the “Buckled Up LA Bowl,” between Boise State and Washington.
That was the very first of 41 FBS bowl games this season, and even if the NCAA decided that they wanted to schedule an early bowl game on the same day as the Army-Navy Game (or playoff games for the lower divisions), they could likely put it in the afternoon if Army-Navy was played at night, or vice-versa.
Every other FBS bowl game, and the College Football Playoff Games, were played after that date. The NFL was still weeks away from its own playoffs, and no other major professional American sports league had playoffs going at that time.
Trump: “You CANNOT schedule another game during the Army-Navy Game! I forbid it!”
Networks the NCAA, and the pro leagues: “We weren’t going to anyway. Whatever you say, boss.”
…is, frankly, relatively meaningless.
By itself, yes.
It’s a precedent for controlling political content.
He’s reminding the remaining Trump-critical networks who is in charge.

Fair point.
He’s reminding the remaining Trump-critical networks who is in charge.
He’s reminding the rest of us that he’s fucking insane.
Uh, can he do that? Tell a network what to air?
No. But if the network’s parent company is, say, engaged in a merger they need the FCC to sign off on, well…
Has Stephen Miller ever watched Star Trek???
There was an episode of TOS where Kirk and Spock had to steal Nazi uniforms. He must have seen that one and assumed they were Starfleet uniforms.

The Enterprise, searching for a missing Federation historian, discovers that the historian has apparently contaminated the cultural development of the planet where he was assigned as a cultural observer to have it follow the societal path of Nazi...
Stolen and put on Facebook.
Has Stephen Miller ever watched Star Trek???
No need to limit it to Stephen Miller. There’s a ton of angry guys on YouTube complaining about how Star Trek has “suddenly gone woke!”
Star Trek’s progressiveness used to be a point of pride among fans. Time was, you couldn’t get the average Trekkie to shut up about “Roddenberry’s vision” for a diverse, egalitarian future.
So it took the trogs 60 years to notice trek is woke? Proves once again what slow learners they are.
Star Trek hasn’t traditionally had the best relationship with the LGBT community:
Star Trek's original series did not have any explicitly LGBT characters, although in 2005 George Takei, who portrayed helmsman Lt. Hikaru Sulu, came out as gay. In October 2011, Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the rebooted feature film franchise, publicly came out as gay. He explained that, after the suicide of bisexual teenager Jamey Rodemeyer, he realized "that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the imm Roddenberry...
Having said that, every Star Trek show now has gay/lesbian/trans/etc. characters in it and makes no apologies for it. But this is a relatively recent thing, pretty much since Discovery.

Also Jadzia Dax of ST Deep Space 9.
Miller is a stupid person. The fact that others are stupid too isn’t an excuse-He is still stupid.
Star Trek hasn’t traditionally had the best relationship with the LGBT community:
ST has always tried to be a progressive show, but it has also always been a product of its times. The trogs fixate on the “for the 60s” part of “Progressive, for the 60s”.
