The current second Trump administration: a compendium of horrors

Wow….who’s lying—Trump or Noem? A classic case of “why not both?”

Has anyone addressed this?

I’m guessing someone will bring it up but not follow through, and she’ll just stay there.

Any scenario involving high cliffs or open windows in tall buildings seems promising.

She’ll just declare it the new Shield of the Americas headquarters.

AKA Wonderwoman?

Blunder Woman.

Ever since Noem was elevated to DHS director I’ve had running through my head the name of an old TV cop drama – Get Christie Love!, only changed slightly to Get Kristi Noem!

Well, they finally did.

Of course! Silly me.

And now Trump has screwed that plan up. He’s made a public announcement that the goal of the was is Iran’s unconditional surrender and Trump getting to choose Iran’s new government. Actually he said UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER not unconditional surrender but I’m assuming he accidentally hit his cap lock key and didn’t know how to turn it off.

This puts him in a bind because now he can’t declare that he has achieved all of his goals in Iran and he’s bringing the troops back home.

Why would that put him in a bind? It would not be the first time he denied saying something despite incontrovertible evidence that he had said it.

'Zactly. His middle name is really “goalpost mover”, not “John” or whatever.

Mostly, because it means that anything other than him getting that unconditional surrender will make him a “loser” and he hates that. His followers won’t care but his ego will.

Like Der Trihs said, Trump has now set the standard for what counts as winning. Which means if he doesn’t get an unconditional surrender, he will have lost the war.

Hmmm. Yesterday, today and tomorrow. I suppose it fits that Trump’s brilliance is always a day away.

You gotta be kidding! Trump contradicts himself from one word to the next. Nothing he has ever said, or will ever say in the future, means anything more than a random brain fart immediately forgotten. This is what makes him so dangerous – he’s really just a loose cannon bouncing around, or maybe a better analogy would be a wrecking ball under the control of a drunken monkey.

And this has already been addressed sol ved by the administration. See

idjit trump simply redefines “unconditional surrender” to mean “I’m tired of messing with Iran, so I’m declaring victory and going home.” So on one fine day he’ll make that decision to withdraw and the Iranians will be defined to have surrendered.

Problem solved in just a day. That’s how powerful Dear Leader is.

That’s true. But Donald has so tenuous a relationship with Facts that all he has to do is say “the Iranians declared their Unconditional Surrender”—it matters not at all that they’ve done no such thing.

No, the crucial issue with the timing of the ‘end of the war’ is, does it last long enough to let Donald declare an Emergency—requiring him to take over vital aspects of the November elections? (Particularly in blue states.)

The only way the USA can stop bombing Iran before, say, the end of October, is if there are some impressive Terrorist Attacks in the USA. Some political assassinations, some mass bombings…whatever. Best if they are actually by Iranian (or at least Muslim) perpetrators—but if there’s no cooperation there, false flag is also acceptable.

The important thing is being able to Declare an Emergency. Nothing else really matters. (Donald REALLY REALLY REALLY does not want Democrats taking over either House or Senate—he knows that will mean impeachment and hearings and just total pain each and every day.)

How’s that working for him?

Ninety-nine percent approval rating and public calls to have the 22nd Amendment repealed?

The reality is Trump is standing way up high on some very shaky scaffolding. And every time he kicks out another board, it makes his fall more likely.

I don’t totally disagree w your premise. But if the real goal is a fake emergency to permit upending the November elections, the shooting has started months too soon.

You want your fake emergency to happen late enough that there’s no time for the normal response system of courts, public opinion, other affected parties, etc., to catch up to your new facts on the ground.

And you want them reeling from the fresh surprise of the war itself. By, say, October, this war started in Feb will be old news. Just like most folks were paying little attention to Gaza a month ago. “Ho hum, just more killing elsewhere. I wonder what’s on TV?” That’s not the mindset you want your public in as you’re trying to stampede them into a panic so they’ll agree that now’s the time for the fascists to really take over.

I am assuming (hoping) this is sarcasm. He and his mouthpieces may claim that, but even among Republican voters, it’s not that high, and among the general public, it’s consistently around 40%, plus/minus a few points at any given time.
