Brian Schatz, (D) HI, is using some of the limited power Democrats have right now – saying “no” to unanimous consent on nominations until USAID is restored to operation. This is good. We don’t know if it will work, but they should be using what little power they have.
I’ve been emailing my senators and representatives continually for the last two days, as well as the governor of my state. But when I try to find somewhere to email the office of the President or Vice President, I can’t. I can find some old links from when Bush or Clinton were in office but darned if it looks like Trump has had any contact info to his office removed from the White House website. Anybody have an email address where I could contact him or Vance to give them my earnest unsolicited opinions?
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but Hegseth just cancelled Black History Month for the Department of Defense, effective immediately.
And not just Black History Month, but all so-called “identity months.”
You will have more access to them if you mention them on your Facebook account (slim to none) than if you send them email (absolutely none).
Interesting that Trump thinks getting Mexico and Canada to move 10,000 troops to the US border is “winning”. Personally I think both countries should add a couple of zeros to that.
Both countries would have to seriously increase the size of their militaries to add a couple of zeros. I’m not saying that’s a bad idea, though.
I heard there were a lot of drugs being dispensed at the White House during Trump 1. Maybe the British should send a few troops there to sort it out like they did in 1814.
I am sending the emails through their websites. I don’t expect them to be read and answered but I’m hoping a staffer monitors the volume and subjects of emails received and will mention to their boss, “hey, people seem really mad about this…”
I also wonder how many in Congress Musk is paying off. Because I’m sure it’s a substantial number.
They, along with everyone else should get nuclear weapons. That’s the only real deterrence.
Jeffries is threatening a government shutdown over Elon sticking his fingers in everything.
The money is accompanied by a note that says “Would you rather this go to your primary opponent? I can make that happen”.
USAID missions overseas ordered to shut down, staff being recalled by Friday
It’s pure and simple dictatorship. Unfortunately, it will be popular:
Trump just wasted 2.2 Billion gallons of water in CA. He thought it would help LA, but none got down here- of course. Now if this turns out to be a dry year, it will make things a lot worse.
https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/03/climate/trump-california-water-dams-reservoirs/index.html#:~:text=The%20US%20Army%20Corps%20of,to%20fire-ravaged%20Southern%20California.
The US Army Corps of Engineers opened two dams on Friday in Central California and let roughly 2.2 billion gallons of water flow out of reservoirs, after President Donald Trump ordered the release with the misguided intent to send water to fire-ravaged Southern California.
Trump celebrated the move in posts to Truth Social post on Friday and Sunday, declaring, “the water is flowing in California,” and adding the water was “heading to farmers throughout the State, and to Los Angeles.”
There are two major problems, water experts said: The newly released water will not flow to Los Angeles, and it is being wasted by being released during the wet winter season.
It’s pure and simple selfishness, not to mention wasteful and evil.
The whole budget of USAID is around $40 billion. That is less than 1% of the U.S. federal budget, or about $120 per year per capita.
We are a rich country, and abruptly cutting off aid to the most desperately poor people on the planet is cruel and stupid. Stupid because diseases do not recognize national borders, and a flare-up of various diseases from drug-resistant TB to Zika to HIV to malaria can end up spreading here to the U.S. as well. But that is besides the point. They are abruptly cutting off aid to poor people, cutting off their access to lifesaving drugs and leaving drinking water wells half-dug.
And the fact that it’s being perpetuated by a rich real-estate developer who has failed his way up for his entire life, aided by the richest man on the planet, just makes it even worse.
I can’t even tell you how much I loathe Trump and Musk at this point. I wouldn’t stay in a Trump property if you paid me, and I feel the same way about Musk now too. I can’t believe I was considering buying a Tesla at one point.
And will increase the number of refugees / migrants.
It’s generally a much better bang for buck to provide aid to targeted schemes in neighbouring countries than spending on policing and deportation raids, but of course, it’s not cruel enough.
Same.
Tesla sales have suffered a big hit in most markets and I was watching an economist speculate about what discounts and other deals (e.g. free charging) that they might soon start to offer to at least keep the sales numbers at a level where the markets remain calm.
I thought about what it would take for me to buy one. I eventually decided the price would have to be virtually free (<$5,000), so I could be certain that they were nowhere near breaking even on production costs, and there could not be a clause about keeping the branding because I would immediately be removing it all.
Shall I go to a showroom with my offer?
Get with the program, none of those ‘’‘’‘diseases’‘’‘’ are real and they are all bio-weapons designed to kill off (the wrong) Americans.
But it’s good that you’re making it snow, Anthony destroying the global economy, Donald - it’s real good. And tomorrow - tomorrow’s going to be a real good day!

Who cares about the ecosystem anyway? Sounds DEI.
My only question is how many of them were tasked with finding the super secret room where the Deep State weather controls are?
What happens when Elon goes to Langley?
