“All Federal Funding will STOP for any College, School, or University that allows illegal protests. Agitators will be imprisoned/or permanently sent back to the country from which they came. American students will be permanently expelled or, depending on on the crime, arrested. NO MASKS!”
I did not see the First Amendment being attacked so early…but here we are.
When does the resistance start? Where do I sign up? My left-leaning posts are all over the Inter-Googles; it’s only a matter of time before they start rounding us up…
So I’ve read some notes of what the Democrat representatives have planned for tonight. Some women among them may wave pink cards. The Black Caucus may wear black clothing. Some want to wave empty egg cartons, but this has been frowned upon by leadership. Whoopty-freaking-do.
I wish that, once Trump reaches the podium, the Democrat members rise as one and quietly depart for the rotunda, where they’ll find barrels of beer, silo cups and a Zydeco band.
(and the barrels will just be beer, because at this point we don’t even give a Fawk)
I think the egg cartons would be a fine idea. Some of these poor schmucks voted for Trump because the price of eggs was too high. Now the price of eggs is still too high, but with the trade war that Trump has unleashed, the price of pretty much everything will be too high. Trade wars are the perfect igniter of high inflation and weak financial markets.
Our Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, suggested Americans keep chickens to fight the rising cost of eggs. Bringing egg cartons seems appropriate to me.
I don’t think they should leave. They have a perfect right to be there and should not give that up.
I think when he starts to speak, they should all turn their backs to him, either standing or while seated, and remain that way for the duration of his B.S. remarks.
My random thought is having signs with the Simpsons Nelson, pointing and saying Ha Ha, that would really get under his skin since he doesn’t like people laughing at him.
I think they should yell at Trump and throw things at him. Why do Democrats consistently let their supporters down this way? Milquetoasts, all of them.
If Democratic politicians had been commonly throwing items at Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, in early 2016, when I switched my registration from Republican to Democratic, I could not have done it.
Trump has only been President for 43 days. He’s only really done something truly unpopular just today (Canada and Mexico tariffs). If Democrats are going to step on that news with their own crudeness, the American dictatorship risks being a long one.
Have you not been watching the news? Daily I see red states and red populations not happy with the shit that has been happening. And yes, the US will really start to see how bad things are as the market tanks, inflation and unemployment skyrocket, and the federal govt grinds to a halt. I know the right jizzes their pants over that last thought but that will be short-lived when they realize their Social Security check isn’t arriving and no one answers the phone to explain why.
Now, it’s true that this might be slightly exaggerating how badly the economy has flipped. e.g. A lot of businesses expecting tariffs to come soon will have been “frontloading” their imports, which will give the illusion of less gdp growth because of the way it’s calculated. Still, it remains the case that all this is the effect of 6 weeks of Trump.
Canada’s economy is now in an emergency situation thanks to Trump. The US economy may not be as dire but it will be bad. Some of the morons who voted for him because the price of eggs was too high may find themselves a lot poorer overall and possibly jobless, facing high prices and shortages.
Also I predict it will be the start of the end of the bromance between Musk and Trump.
If the economic data is bad, someone will need to take the blame. Sure, in the short term it will be the deep state, immigrants, whatever, and of course the media will try to gaslight the public about the economy (with left-leaning outlets cowed into silence)
But privately it will be adding a lot of tension and with egos like Musk and Trump’s it will blow up pretty fast.
