Next step- rename the San Andreas Fault to “Biden’s Fault”.
I fully expect the White House to fire the chief groundskeeper and Marco Rubio will be mowing the White House grounds on an interim basis.

Thank you. This news was really darkening my outlook today.
Marco: Do I look like a Mexican to you?
MAGA: Yes.
A True Patriot knows that no amount of slavish praise for the military is ever enough.
(I’m not denigrating the military; but some practically lay prostrate before anyone wearing a USS Simon Lake ballcap)
The problem is that the military many of them praise isn’t America’s.
(Article from 2023)
Per the fact sheet:
TREATING AMERICANS EQUALLY: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order eliminating the use of disparate-impact liability in various contexts to ensure equal treatment under the law.
- Disparate-impact liability is a legal theory holding that differences in outcomes among races, sexes, or similar groups indicate unlawful discrimination, even without discriminatory intent or policies, but the theory violates the Constitution’s guarantee of equal treatment for all by requiring race-oriented policies and practices to rebalance outcomes along racial lines.
A reminder: Before the Civil Rights Act, People (and the government) could turn away women and people of colour, and instead hire/admit the White candidate – even when the people being discriminated against is more qualified. Trump is saying that this is discriminatory, because the CRA gives preference to non-White, non-male candidates… which means that now White males may be hired before a more highly-qualified candidate who happens not to be a White male.
Tl;dr: Trump signed an Executive Order to gut the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
ETA:
Sec. 9. General Provisions. …
(c) This order is not intended to… create any right or benefit… by any party against the United States…
At least Black people can still get Black jobs.
Like the time a Black man was given the nation’s worst job.
Why does the United States even have laws? They obviously mean nothing, if a President can override them at will.
Has this always been the case? Has the United States always been an absolute dictatorship, and we just didn’t notice?
It’s always been susceptible. I’ve heard it described as having operated on the honor system.
Trump and honor annihilate in close proximity.
@Alessan and @bobot : My wife laughed at both of your posts. (She has just finished writing a letter calling attention to Trump’s actions that I posted above, to our Congressman and Senators.)
As long as we can laugh at that bastard there is some measure of hope.
We’re in a brave new world with a president abusing his powers in a manner most of us thought near impossible. i.e. In a worst case scenario, we assumed Congress and the Supreme Court would serve as a check against the power of the Presidency. Unfortunately we are headed in the direction of our old friend the Soviet Union who had plenty of wonderful laws on the books to protect individual rights that were simply ignored by the apparatchik.
I don’t particularly like this source but I assume the info is accurate. Trump has inflicted on NASA the largest budget cut in its history. I guess the stuff that NASA is doing is a little too close to science, and we know how the Orange Dumbass feels about science!
The cuts mean that the valuable Mars Sample Return (MSR) mission is cancelled. No problem – Trump is giving Musk $1 billion to help him colonize Mars, and I suppose Elmo can pick up some soil samples while he’s there.
The only good thing about this continuing horror show is that occasionally it’s so stupid that it’s funny!
That has to involve Trump’s diaper. Right?
Or Elon’s “soil” samples.
To lighten the mood ever so slightly I saw a T-shirt with silk-screened graphic for sale.

Trump has decided to cut funding for traumatic brain injury research
He doesn’t want them to discover what’s wrong w his brain.
