The Daily Feud at Night: the Loser Feud by cmkeller [Game Over]

Please don’t use asterisks in your answers. Instead, number your comments per the answer number (see the post above yours.) Thanks!

Yes, although I wish I’d gone with my first instinct and said the Clippers.

#10 foiled me - I’ve never watched it

  1. Name a loser of a US Presidential election, minimum 20 years ago.

Now this question I didn’t understand. I misread it as within the last 20 years. :smack:

  1. Crystal Palace
  2. England
  3. Tim Henman
  4. Rommel
  5. Mondale
  6. Kinnock
  7. Roulette
  8. Forest Whittaker
  9. Burgers

I’m so coming last, but I thought I should join in.

You know Forest Whitaker just won an Oscar for best actor, right?

Oh blimey! I honestly didn’t. I’m so out of touch.

I always thought of him as a somewhat unrecognised great actor. Having googled I did know he had done that film (I loved the book), but I haven’t seen it yet.

I live in a small village in Greece - news of the outside world arrives by donkey (a slow donkey).

I understand. He was long overdue; in my opinion, he should have won for “Ghost Dog.”

Number 8 screwed me up, and now I think I am unclear on the rules, for which I apologize. (Damn noobs!) My first thought here was “Glenn Close” but I Googled her and found out she actually won an Emmy. But do “wrong” answers count? Or do they need to be both right AND popular? (Like, I see George Clooney and Susan Lucci as answers for this question, but they’ve actually won.)

pravnik:

And your answer is specifically why I specified a certain distance in time - without that, Kerry would have been a certain conch. If I excluded him, Gore would have been (except for the wise guys who would say “G. W. Bush”).

I feel dumb not participating in my own Feud - but I was so eager to see how it was going that I broke the first rule without even thinking about it.

Wrong answers count, too. They just need to be popular. Which is totally the tricky part.

In case you’re wondering (in the previous post) what a “conch” is -

There was once a question that said “name a shell.” Almost everyone said conch, so now, an answer that is a “conch” is the most popular answer of a particular Feud.

  1. Chicago Cubs
  2. Buffalo Bills
  3. Peyton Manning
  4. Stonewall Jackson
  5. Walter Mondale
  6. John Major
  7. Keno
  8. Tom Cruise?
  9. Pizza
  10. Sawyer

We getting another new feud tonight? ::looks hopeful::

I’m gonna ask the mods to change your name to Feudian Slut! ;):stuck_out_tongue:

<deep sigh> I suppose.
I’m going to email the scoresheet for this one home. It’s supposed to end at 3, but I’m trying to get my work done so I can GO ON VACATION ALL NEXT WEEK! But don’t worry, I’m not going out of town - it’s a stay-at-home vacation because my husband just started a new job and has no vacation accrued yet.

So I’ll be available to do Feuds 24/7. Heh. Not!

So look for one later, Feudies.

[grade school kids voice]yay!! Thank you, Dolores!

Yup, I misread and thought I had a conch for sure. Ah, well, I don’t think I was going to win this one anyway. Hey, I’m a loser’s loser!

No requirement that your answer actually be correct. If Glenn Close turned out to be the top answer it wouldn’t matter that it’s technically incorrect, you’d still get the points.

Time’s up!
