And the winner is ~drumroll~ **Mahaloth **!!! Woo-hoo! ::flings confetti:: Mahaloth got 7/10 top answers. Very good! Perfect was 316.12.
Thanks everyone! Thanks to you, too, Chocky, for a very interesting topic. It’s cool how our memories overlap through the decades. Does that make sense?

The Worm had a huge advantage. Iceland still uses half the stuff on the list. They are waiting for color TV to come their way. They are waiting in heavy anticipation for the Ipod. I protest.
Otak with 32 points must have established a new low. I applaud . A level that no one will ever reach.
The interesting thing here is the spectrum of time we think gizmos “appeared”. You can pick many of the top answers and see that they are named in previous decades (often correctly). The top answers may more accurately reflect when they became ubiquitous.
As an example, the first “wireless phone” patentwas received in 1908, the first cell phone patent (what we think of) was in 1969, the first cell phone call was placed in 1973, the first commercial network (in Japan, of course) was in 1979 and they were fairly common in the States, albeit large and clunky, by the 1980s. It’s not unfair to say that they were not ubiquitous until the 1990s, though, which was our top answer for the 90s.
I find I can never gauge when I’m going to win, do OK, or fail miserably. I’ve won 3 times, all on random categories I am by no means an expert in. I’ve done horribly on my favorite topics. It really does help to be clueless(which is what I am).
