The Daily Show Archives Now Available Online For Free

Comedy Central has recently introduced TheDailyShow.com, the new official website for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Although it gives you information and such, by far the most interesting part of the site is its thousands of free videos of classic Daily Show clips dating back from Jon Stewart’s start in 1999. Although it is by no means complete, it does have a lot of stuff, including the always funny John Hodgman and, of course, Dr. Stephen Colbert, before he had a Report of his own. (Here’s hoping Stephen will get his own site like this someday!)

Brilliant! I know what I’ll be doing tonight instead of homework…

Now of course we must track down our old favorites. Here’s one of mine, Steve Carell’s Very Special Christmas Specials Christmas Special.

Someone find the clip of Colbert erm, “eating” the banana.

WTF is up with their search engine? Anything you search for, from “Colbert” to “gfhfdh” finds the same 55 videos.

This is a wonderful idea- no one’s making any money off the old episodes of this show, and they may as well be available.

The search engine now works. Although the works of Vladimir Gfhfdh still remain lost to obscurity, I can now fulfill marshmellow’s request: Royal Pain, featuring Doritos® brand tortilla chips presents Dr. Stephen Colbert and a banana.

Here’s one of my favorites: Getting Pfukked, featuring Rob Corrdry.

(Names for segments are my own, but I think they fit.)

What’s up with this site? I can’t get this week’s show anymore; it’s a week behind.

Is this a whoosh? There was no Daily Show for the week of October 22-25.

Oh. That would explain it. Why not?

Vacation? They’re good, but I don’t think they can pull off 52 weeks of new shows a year.

They’re supposed to be getting up pre-Jon years shortly. Even though I prefer Jon over Craig, those clips are still really funny. Stephen had some brilliant moments back then, including a trip to a KKK rally and tempting Bigfoot with a pot of beans.
