I remember reading about a study some time ago that “proved” that
“men make up their mind faster, but are more willing to change it” while women “take longer to decide, but are more resistant to change” (paraphrasing)…now I am looking for a link to or cite for the study / claim…
Huh. Once again, the dynamics in my house go against the current. I make up my mind quickly, but the mister dithers endlessly. However, he is willing to change it - over and over and over again.
Yeah, I would say the opposite. I (guy) take a while, consider all the options, influences, outcomes and synthesis a decision. Mrs K comes to an instant decision based upon one, and only element of the problem, usually a principled decision.
Meh. While there are measurable differences between female and male brains, most of these differences are surprisingly small until they are exaggerated by social conditioning. While “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus” style conjectures are an easy way to sell books, most of the “Well, women are like this because in caveman days they had to do that” stuff is completely BS>
Can you narrow down the time frame from “some time ago”?
Was there a specific task associated with the decision making? For example, some I’ve found deal with financial decisions (which is a rather common task in these types of experiments, as I understand).
