I kind of got the impression that the tunneling darkspawn don’t find a whole, slumbering archdemon underground. They find… something, and it turns the first darkspawn who gets near it into an archdemon.
I got kind of thrown at one point, because I didn’t realize that archdemons and dragons aren’t necessarily the same thing. When I was looking for
Andraste’s urn, and it turned out there was a dragon nearby, I finished the quest and got the hell out of Dodge, because I thought that was the archdemon, and I knew I wasn’t nearly tough enough to take him on yet. Game progressed, and I kind of forgot about him. Then, at the end, and I get the “bad ending” on the shrine of Andraste for not taking out the dragon.
Yeah, I remember being thrown by this as well in the beginning of my first playthrough. At first it seems like “Dragon” and “Archdemon” are being used interchangeably. Not long after leaving Lothering I found a codex entry somewhere, I want to say it was in the Circle Tower but I can’t be certain of that, where somebody was discussing dragons being corrupted by Darkspawn blood, but that it wasn’t the same thing as an archdemon if no less dangerous.
I hooked up with Morrigan and it was extremely silly. She goes from biting sarcasm to “Oh, it sure is cold, who will keep me warm?” in a snap. The whole time my character was wearing one of those fruity mage hats. Morrigan has pretty sweet cans, though. Anyway, since she seemed to be cool with the NSA action, I might try and sleep with Zevran next (you can sleep with Zevran if you’re male, can’t you?). I figure my character won’t officially be a decadently evil elf mage unless he’s swung both ways.
I’m still looking for a way to bag Morrigan, Zevran, and Leliana in the same game. I think I had Leliana and Morrigan competing, but Leliana seems to have lost caring since shagging Morrigan.
Grumble.
Dunno, maybe try it in a different order? Leliana, Morrgan, and then Zevran? From what it sounds like, Leliana is the one to have the most problem if you screw around, so get through hers first… though she would probably be pissed after you moved on.
I did the threesome it couldn’t be more boring. It breaks down to
“Hey let’s go to your boat”
“ok”
“Hey I’m coming with” fade to black
“That was fun” few sexually suggestive lines you can pick from
That’s pretty much it. For the record I was playing a female and Leliana was the one that came with me so your mileage may vary.
I’m pretty sure if you do Leliana then Zev, then Morrigan you can get all three… but it won’t last forever so enjoy it!!
I got Leliana to “Love” first, all the while sneaking off with Zev late at night (with a male PC). Then before I tried to up Zev’s opinion into “Love” range, I dumped Leliana (she took it better than I expected). The only problem was that I’d already been propositioned by Morrigan and turned her down, so I couldn’t get that option again. You can romance Leliana & Zev at the same time without either of them caring much. I think as long as you haven’t talked to Morrigan until you’re ready for her you should be able to get all three. So save the Grimoire and the mirror and her companion quest until last.
With a different (female) character I romanced Alistair & Zev at the same time - and Leliana, too. Eventually Zev confronted me about Alistair and ended up dumping me out of consideration for Alistair’s feelings. I had also broken it off with Leliana before attempting to romance Alistair, however.
What I’m wondering is how to get Zev to “Love” you. Right now I’m at 100 with him, but he only “Adores” me… maybe it’s only possible for him to “Love” a female PC?

Did you have an encounter in Denerim with an old Crow associate of his? Of course it’s an assassination attempt. After we got through that he gave my character a ring and his status changed to ‘Love’.
Don’t force him to admit it, though, or he’ll just start sulking and get all huffy.
Afterwards he was all confused and wasn’t “in the mood” once when I tried to initiate. But after a few nice words all was well.

Hmm… I know the encounter you’re referring to. I don’t think I’ve been through it yet on this particular character.
I was originally going to stick with Leliana through the end, but she started to creep me out. What’s funny is that after I dumped her, I went back to talk to her again (“sorry I had to end it, blah blah blah”) and got the option “I think Zev would be open to you joining us for the night.” (paraphrased) Too bad she said no.
As far as my everybody-loves-me goal goes, so far I’m at 100 with Leliana, Morrigan, and Zev. And Dog (of course). I’m at “Warm” with Alistair, Sten & Wynne (somewhere around 50-60ish I think), and I’m still neutral with Shale. I haven’t picked up Oghren yet but I’ve been stashing all the booze I find for when that finally happens.
So I haven’t played it in a few weeks, but I STILL hear “Try not to look too incompetent, it’s embarrassing!” every three seconds. It’s INGRAINED IN MY MIND.
Hmm, I’m only a few hours into the game (currently doing the Arl of Redcliff quest), but I was hoping to ask two quick build questions before I completely mess up a character who I otherwise like.
First off, as I’m playing a magi, where should I be concentrated my stats? My PC is configured to be the group’s glass cannon, so she primarily has Primal spells, and currently I belief all of her points have gone into Magic (currently 36) and Willpower (I think 20). Is there any point where I would want to be boosting something other than these two? (I’m thinking of taking the Blood Mage specialization, but I’m honestly not sure if taking points in constitution would be any more effective than just getting that MP from straight willpower)
Second, if I’m trying to build a magi capable of inflicting as much damage as possible, does anyone have recommendations for spells after I max out the Primal tree?
