I think this thread belongs in Café Society, not MPSIMS, because it depends on literary (in a broad sense) references, some of which may require being explained. If mods. disagree, please move it.
The object of the game is to come up with a quotation, probably using a common idiom or cliché, and attribute it to a fictional character in whose mouth it gains a whole different meaning.
Four examples to get the game going:
“It’s been one of those days!” – Jack Bauer
“Well, it’s been fun trading riddles with you, but I gotta get going. Give me a ring if you’re ever down my way.” – Bilbo Baggins, to Gollum
“The butler did it” – Scarlett O’Hara, pregnant
“The robot monkey butler did it.” – one of the Dingellian boys, in David Gerrold’s Jumping off the Planet and sequels
