The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim post-release thread

The Greybeards themselves are not DOHVAKIIINs and yet they seem pretty competent at the whole yelling thing, so presumably shoutin’ is just something anybody can learn who puts their mind to it. You just have a fast track to it because you can dragoncide your way to power instead of having to do some fastidious book learning, meditation, practice…

Ha, if only such things existed. Fuck college, I’ll just go kill me some 'gators to learn advanced economics !

The former.

Does this effect their inventory? Should I clean them out before doing these commands?

Thanks!

Right. In the audio/dialog during the main quest where you go to High Hrothgar the first time, Angier mentions that they spend decades learning a shout. Ulfrid doesn’t look that old.

Well, he knocked him down with a shout (probably Fus) and then stabbed him in the heart… but Ulfric isn’t Dragonborn, just someone who studied a bit of the Voice. The line of the Septims, on the other hand, were Dragonborn. That makes you their rightful heir as you’re the only known Dragonborn left.

Screw the Imperials and the Stormcloaks, I want my wenches damnit.

What seems lacking is a value/weight sorting tool, which exists in the mod I’m currently using (QD inventory, on nexus). Very useful to pick up on corpses, in chests, etc..only what is worth being carried around.

Yeah, I’d know about this script extender. I’m interested in a mod thet requires it (can’t remember of it’s the mod changing the walking/running/horseback speed, or the mod changing the flow of time (slower when you’re inside, quicker outside). Is there any drawback using it?

I should have mentioned that, yes. In fact, I don’t know for sure, but I always removed everything they had before doing that, just to be on the safe side. Also saved the game before, still just in case.

Someone helpfully told me somewhere in this thread: if you pick up the red soul gems one by one, eventually it will turn the normal color. So now the number you took are the stolen ones, and the rest remain in the container. In other words, you pick up stolen items before legit ones in a stack.

I just learned about HOME/END/PG UP/PG DOWN for selling/picking up/dropping multiple items. Kinda helpful.

Not faux amis here, it’s “console,” too. The key is referred to as ~, which is technically pushing `, as ~ requires shift, but everybody refers to the tilde. It is left of the 1 key.

The book “Shadowmarks” describes a mark for fences, but I’ve never really paid attention in game. Still, a useful book to have, especially the “good loot here” and “this house is empty” ones.

I think the distinction is: (aside from Dragonborn being better at Thu’um) when the town guard or even a Greybeard kills a dragon, it will remain dead for some time or maybe even a very long time. But the Dragonborn are the only ones to absorb the souls of dragons and perma-kill them.

Well, that and as Dragonborn you can learn Shouts instinctively. Ulfric - and the Greybeards - needed training. You can also light the Dragonfires in theory, and might in effect have a claim on the Imperial throne.

It’s moot. After clearing out a dungeon, suddenly dragon. I went through all my health potions and had to level up to get more health to kill it. I had a few levels saved up. I’m at 23 now.

All I want for Christmas is a talking mudcrab vendor (though a daily limit of 10,000 might be a bit low; I’m thinking more like a million).

I think it can; better safe than sorry.

I want Creeper the vending scamp.

ergh!
ergh!
ergh!

Buy a house, your pauper !

Anyway:
7. Spell duration icons. Seriously, why did they get rid of those ? I know they wanted a sleek UI with as little as possible on the screen, but people who play in first person have zero ways to know whether their buffs are still active, and no matter which view you play in no way to know whether their muffle spell or armour spell or invisibility spell or whatnot is juuust about to break without delving three menus deep. Very annoying.

Oxygen bar when swimming would be nice, too.

Anybody know, if you’ve got Shadowmere and get off, where he/she goes back to? I’d assume the stables by whatever city your house is in, but I’ve got no clue and the wikis are no help. Ideas?

Fast travel somewhere and s/he should be back. If that doesn’t work, then maybe you got on another horse since and “lost” SM. Of course, I permanently lost Shadowmere in Oblivion, so I dunno.

In/near the stables if you fast travel to a city.
