the END OF ATHEISM...

Holy crap, HIM? The ISP I work for keeps getting complaints about him from a variety of message board admins because the IPs he uses usually come back to us. We provide the service most of the Second Cups in the area run their wifi hotspots over. Sadly, the only way to get him totally banned is to figure out who he really is and get Second Cup to stop letting him in. :frowning:

Yeah, but the cookouts are great!

Maybe one of the admins can use a new username: Idi Admin.

My question has been answered, both here and by PM. Thanks.

He’s all over the place, and has been for years. I believe his real identity is known.

One spammer, Second Cup?

We get complaints about him on a lot of different IPs. Montreal’s pretty well littered with Second Cup cafes, most of which have a wifi hotspot for their customers. My best guess is that he lives somewhere downtown and is within a short travelling distance of several of them.

ETA: Unless I’ve misunderstood your post and that’s not the clarification you were looking for.

Nah, it’s just pining for the fjords

Ah, so that explains why I have had the honor of reporting him several times already… (midnight Mountain is 9 AM for me, just as I get to work, get my first cup of coffee, and catch up on the Dope! :))

Same here except I’m in the Pacific zone. Bit of insomnia and POW! spammer smack down.

Can’t you just lock one of his threads and leave it on display? Pretty please? I want to read one of them. It sounds like he and Egmond Codfried would make a good pair.

As Marley said in post #5, if you google “David Mabus” and “Atheism is dead” you can find plenty of examples elsewhere.

Really, they aren’t all that interesting, just disjointed lunatic phrases. He makes Egmond look like Wittgenstein.

ISTM that a mod could C&P (or quote) a post in this thread. That way, the curious could read it; and also, the locked thread won’t sink into oblivion so the curious wouldn’t know it’s there.

But as Colibri posted, examples can be googled. (I’ll take his word for it.) I did read a post, and it seemed to consist of ‘Oh, yeah? What about this?’ segments with associated YouTube links. I watched part of one video and found it very uninteresting (some sort of ‘panel’). I got bored after several seconds.

Johnny, Well they do like to censor any negatives regarding athiesm here, it takes very little of that to be told to move on, it is always in the wrong place, or not the exact subject and on and on.

I think your idea to at least quote some here is a good one. If the post isn't a spam or porn link but just a view it ought to be allowed once, I agree multiple ones are OK to remove, and that yes this particular guy is probably a nut. But has anyone been allowed to ask him questions? Maybe English is a second language to him or something? Seems to be plenty of other nutty threads around. I also see it says witnessing is allowed in GD, with a snarky "if you must".

Silverstreak Wonder, he’s a spammer plain and simple. If he came in here with the same kind of post but with a pro-atheist slant, he would be banned just as fast.

  1. He opens new accounts after being banned.
  2. He posts and leaves with no intention if having a discussion. Doing this multiple times is pretty much being a jerk.
  3. He copies and pastes the same text across several forums.
  4. He does the same thing all over the internet thus proving he has no interest in actually debating his points.

OK, then it may all be correct to ban fast, especially if his idea is a link to some book he is selling or something. That part was not clear till now. If it is just spam then it is fine to remove.

It is, as you say, not that interesting (or coherent). Bottom line is that and we’re not here to provide a platform for this guy’s views. That includes closing all the threads he opens (sometimes five or more a night), and that also includes quoting his rantings in this or any other thread.

So, no, we’re not going to provide direct examples of his stuff. Colibri is correct, it’s easy enough to find elsewhere.

That’s about it. As twickster says, it’s much less interesting than it might sound. The posts are entirely incoherent.

This blog has more information and some examples of the guy’s posts. Enjoy.

Anyone who feels the need to “debate” him can easily find other messageboards where his posts have not been removed.

World Tour T-shirts from his “fan club”.

What’s the deal with the video he keeps linking to? I don’t get it.

Of course you know, clicking on that link will show that the traffic came from here; thus increasing the possibility of even more spamming.

It’s a site called Atheist Nexus, they have as much trouble from him as we do.
