We lost a 12’ cedar tree on campus due to the snow. I’ve noticed much more pine in Arkansas than New Hampshire. When I got back from trips to NH courting the future Mrs. Plant, and stopped outside the LR airport to have my first smoke in hours, the smell of pine was wonderfully of home.

If the new shoots are really in danger of getting frozen, you can just pile some more dirt on them to keep them frost-free until the danger of frost has passed.

the biggie sign of spring for philly is the flower show. starts on sunday.
some will remember that there was a huge late snow storm that canceled the last day and a half of the flower show one year. mother nature may try that again…
