I’m glad to see this thread. Although I have not actually managed to interact much with Eve on the boards, I alway read threads she starts–they’re witty and wonderful and so much fun.
Eve is one classy lady.
This is the first time I’ve participated in an appreciation thread, but I have to do it in this case. Eve is the best! I love all her posts and all her threads and I can’t even imagine someone would think to pit her.

My husband would like me to point out that, upon seeing the picture of Eve that Shayna posted in the now locked thread, he is of the firm opinion that Eve bears a striking resemblance to Marina Sirtis.

Eve, I want you to know that you’ve always been, and will always be one of my favorite posters on this board. Work and life and all have kept me in occasional lurk/seldom post mode for some time (that and my tendency to be a thread killer), but I had to come out of the woodwork to let you know that you’re one classy lady. Period.
I’m always am glad to see you’ve started a thread since I know that it’ll be a fun read. The SDMB is a better place because of people like you.

Well, I can trump most of y’all–my bf and I get to have tea with Eve next week at, of all places, the Algonquin! Woo hoo! Eve is without question the most erudite and charming lady I have ever had the pleasure to interact with.
Eve taught me how to do my eyebrows. Actually she was teaching someone else and I Evesdropped on the conversation.

I don’t think that we’ve ever interacted in any way, but the boards are different without that je ne sais quois that Eve brings.
I thought of that, but saying “all y’all” would ignore the NYC Dopers who can hang out with Eve whenever, instead of having to fly there.
