She’s, bar none, my favorite poster. She’s so witty and kind with just the right amount of snobbery. I adore her threads and just love her posting style.
How can anyone not like Eve?
I’d love to meet her someday. My mom lives in Hoboken which is, I think, close to where she lives. Hopefully, someday, I can post an ‘I met Eve!’ thread.
I tried searching for an Eve appreciation thread, but was advised via a vBulletin Message the search term I specified, Eve, is under the minimum word length of four characters, by the way.
We were at some sort of party on the docks and I accidentally knocked her in the water when I jumped off the pier to go swimming. She cursed me out in the politest way too, kind of like in Shakespeare when they say nastymean things to each other but you can’t really tell…
I agree, Eve’s great, otherwise why would I be dreaming about her?
I’d like to say that I agree with JuanitaTech. When I first got here, I read a thread that was titled “All About Eve” (it was about how she got lured back to the board after evil gossip had been spread about her, as I recall). That thread gave me an idea of the lovely and kind person that Eve was.
Now, in the few months I have been here, that impression has been further bolstered by evidence I have seen in various threads around here. She is indeed sweet, kind, knowledgeable, and very witty and humorous. I have come to respect her opinion, and consider it very carefully.

[sub]Eve, about the groceries thing? I gave it to the lady, and she appreciated it very much.[/sub]
I am most definitely an Eve fan. She is a thoughtful, witty and engaging poster, and a scholarly and thorough author. I strongly recomend her Harlow bio. It’s one of the best show biz books I’ve ever read!
On her book jacket, Eve resembles a Jewish Mary Pickford, but somehow I imagine her voice to be more Glenda Farrell.
Another admiring yokel posting in praise of the radiant wit, charm, and intellect that is Eve.
There are few things that will get me to click on a thread faster than to see her named attached to it. And I can never remember being disappointed by the results.
I will even embarassingly admit my giddy glee the two times she acknowledged me in threads. Silly schoolboy glee, just like being recognized by one of the cool kids in high school, only this was so much more satisfying.
Eve is smarter and more sophisticated than any five of us put together. I reread her Theda Bara book (available at an amazon.com near you) while I was moving last week and it just melted the stress away.
Who’s Eve? it’s just a coincidence that I showed up here. I didn’t even read the thread title.
I wish she’d stay away from dock-workers though. They are nasty, rough men. I, on the other hand am swayve, sophistercatted and well red. Wanna gimme a go, sister?
Jiminy crickets! Damned if I’m not going to print this out to reread anytime I feel blue . . .
(Thanks for all the book plugs—I got a new one coming out in Sept., which I shall duly shill herein—and Jonathan, Lauren Bacall is actually a cousin of mine, on my grandma’s side!)
