I can’t believe I started watching this show again. It’s beyond stupid.
I guess I just want to find out the backstory of the aliens. I assume they are some sort of time travelers, but maybe the writers don’t even know.
But I’m with Shakes. I don’t care who wins, as long as we find out who the aliens are.
Do we know yet if the show has been cancelled or picked up for another season?
Agreed that the writing could be better, but I love me some sci-fi drama, and just want something to stick. But yeh, I voted “aliens”… but the “good” aliens that are on our side.
Even though I think they’re our pre-historic, space-farring ancestors who’ve returned after several millennia.
I want them all to die. I’m continuing to watch this show only because I invested my time in watching it at the outset - when it seemed interesting. Now, it irritates me as the plot just gets more and more ludicrous. I’m presuming it won’t get a 2nd season pick up and I wouldn’t complain about that.
The aliens have never been truthful with us. I could just believe the “we’re only keeping secrets for your own good because of the Prime Directive, blah blah” line until they were forced to make a hard choice. And I’m really getting sick of Sophia’s crocodile tears about how much she regrets ordering people’s deaths.
I never watched more than a couple of E.R. episodes, but the woman who plays Sophia is apparently quite excellent at playing a stone-cold bitch, and in certain shots with the right lighting, is extremely attractive, even though I would guess she is 20+ years older than I am.
That said, The Event is beyond ludicrous, but it has me played like a fiddle, as I have watched each and every episode, which is something I don’t think I have ever done before in my life (never been a Sci-Fi person, and with the handful of sit-coms I have gotten into over the years, skipping an episode here or there makes no real difference) although I pray it’s cancelled and wrapped up here in the next few weeks, as I feel dumber by the episode for having watched it…:smack:
Just read on AICN… it’s officially cancelled. They’ll air the rest of the season.
I wonder if we’ll ever actually see the titular Event. So far all we’ve seen is a bunch of stuff that is not the Event.
I’d be happy if they explained how that one guy went from being on a cruise and having his girlfriend kidnapped to being a guy who knew all about a plot to crash an airplane.
Yeah, that bugged me too. I figured they’d just explain it as they were filling in the back stories, but then they never did.
