There’s so much testosterone in this film, only with modern cinematographic technology can prevent all the macho from collapsing into a quantum singularity.

They’re trying to make a good movie. As in, the opposite of bad.

This is already locked in as one of my choices for Movie Night this summer. I may have to see 5 chick-flicks as penance but it will be worth it. Love the line from the trailer:

I like that in what may be the most testosterone laden film of the year Stallone is so heavily into the mascara that he looks like he was getting ready for his one-man drag show but got distracted by an action film.

That’s hilarious. In our household, he’s the one who’s more likely to see the girly chick flicks. He’s seen several that I haven’t (that one with Rene Zellweger in a cold climate, that one with Sandra Bullock as a bitchy boss, uh…that one with that one actress I can’t remember, uh, a bunch more that I can’t remember because I absolutely do not pay attention to them. I have seen The Back-Up Plan, and he hasn’t (I loved it, btw).
Give me an action movie, any day. Give me an action movie with Jason Statham and I am so there, so first in line, so front row. I don’t care who else is in the movie, I’ll be there and will only have eyes for Jason.
(Edit to add, he, my husband, not Jason, is most definitely straight too. I assume Jason is too though)
Yeah, the otherwise good Rocky Balboa was nearly ruined by Stallone’s carefully plucked eyebrows. It went way beyond “metrosexual” to “are you trying to tell us something Sly?”
