So, I was reading this article in a newspaper and it contained this quote:
Quite a chilling prediction and I would dismiss it if it weren’t for the fact that it all sounds so much like a Hollywood movie.
Picture the scene.
It is one thousand years in the future. The radical Islamists have taken over the planet and the world is being run as they wish.
All the people are happy with this because they now realise that radical Islam is the true path and America was indeed a great Satan as those early pioneers tried to tell us.
This movie is the story of how those first few heroes rescued the planet from the “evil” of America.
The movie would be the story of how a rag-tag bunch of adventurers saved the world from the caves of Afghanistan.
So, if we assume that their goal really is the “extinction of America”, how could they possibly accomplish this?
And what do they mean anyway?
Do they mean they want to kill everyone? I think that killing 260 million people would be a pretty tall order even if they have got a coupla small nukes.
They obviously can’t kill everyone, so what else could they mean? Destroy America’s economic strength?
How would they do this? America’s economic strength comes from its large population, its abundant natural resources and (arguably) its political system.
Terrorists could destroy none of these by flying a few well-aimed planes here and there or by blowing up the occasional bomb.
So how could they possibly achieve the “extinction of America” and what do they mean by this anyway?
If you were a terrorist how would you go about achieving the extinction of America?
Basically, they want to end the US as a world power. They think that if they slaughter enough of us in horrific acts we’ll pull our troops out of Saudi Arabia and other places. As to how they’ll do it, its pretty obvious: By any means necessary.
No, but it would be a start. Once they pushed us out of Saudi Arabia, they’d be able to rally more supporters because they could claim victory over us. They could then try and force us out of the other parts of the Mid-East where we have bases, plus they could hold the oil reserves hostage. Not mention the various hate-groups around the world have had meetings where they’ve divided the globe up amongst themselves, so if we got booted out of Saudi Arabia, you’d see domestic terrorists screaming that the US Government’s controlled by the Jews or some other class of “undesirables” and start a revolution here. Once the US was totally out of the picture because of the civil unrest at home, they could freely move about the globe and complete their plans for world domination.
We’ve had troops in Saudi Arabia off and on since the 1930s, although not in Mecca and Medina. I understand that we currently have 5,000 troops there. Does anyone know what strategic purpose that they serve? I notice that the funding for these terrorists seems to originate in Saudi Arabia, albiet from private fortunes, and so do the most prominent terrorists. I also notice that these are the same kind of fanatics that desecreted the sacred shrine in Mecca in the late 70s. Yet the Saudis seem less than anxious about these fanatics. Can someone who understands Saudi culture and politics explain what is going on?
Well, first off, I wouldn’t have blown up the WTC without some other things immediately poised and ready to go.
Smallpox stores in every major city, ready for same-day release. Working nukes would be fine, sure, but I’d be more interested in getting the nuclear materials inside, to dump into city reservoirs and such–preferably, on that day of the 'pox release. As far as blowing things up went, major transformers and so forth on the national power grid, and ideally a nuclear plant or three. And THEN something big and impressive like the WTC. I’d try to arrange all that to happen within a short span of time, like a few days of each other.
Beyond that, I dunno. Play it by ear, really. If I had a working nuclear device, and I wanted not just extremist muslims to rise up against the Great Satan, I wouldn’t nuke New York or DC or L.A.–I’d nuke Mecca (I’d do my damndest to make sure only my most trusted lieutenants knew about this particular scheme, and absolutely NOT the rank-and-file suicide bombers), and then scream, as loudly as my organization could put the big lie out, “AMERICA DID THIS!” By the time the truth came out (which would be pretty quick, no illusions about that), it would still be too late, and frankly, most of the people I’d be concerned about believing it wouldn’t want to accept the truth of it.
Of course, my closest co-conspirator would be an exotic, beautiful, and deadly femme fatale (as opposed to non-lethal femme fatales?) sent to take care of my arch-nemesis. Instead, my plan to destroy America will come unraveled as she is hopelessly smitten with my foe, and helps him to infiltrate my top-secret underground bunker. He’d probably finally defeat me by ironically dropping a craneful of WTC debris onto me.
Any script changes that will net me more money will be enthusiastically embraced.

I would say it is becoming quite clear whose side god is on here and it ain’t their side.
Do you suppose Jojo is Mullah Muhammad Omar and having made this outlandish prediction he’s left with no recourse but to consult the website with the biggest brains to figure how to bring it about? hmmmm?
Makes you wonder if some of the stories going around about exactly who nuked the WTC could be true or not. I have heard some people suggest that the whole WTC thing was perpetrated by the US Government for this very reason, so they could, as loudly as their organisation could put the big lie out, “OSAMA BIN LADEN AND THE TALIBAN DID THIS!”
Well, there’s at least one guy out there who thinks this is a likely scenario:
I remember a semi-pulpish sci-fi novel kinda along these lines. “Jitterbug” by Mike McQuay, the guy who wrote Escape from New York. A Saudi oil conglomerate establishes signature office towers (sorta like the Trans America buildings) in many major world cites, each topped with a distinctive golden dome.
Once in place they reveal the domes each contain a bio-warfare agent. They soon issue a series of edicts establishing a global empire under their interpretation of Islamic law. As an example they release the “jitterbug” virus destroying human life in Australia.
It wasn’t great literature by any stretch, but for the $2 I paid in a second hand book store it was a good read.
Theoretically speaking, that would seem the most practical way. Maybe if they nuked the New York Stock Exchange and the Federal Reserve Banks they could accomplish it. Still… that would be a mighty big task.
