I just went to check something and I had been logged out. Logged back on and it told me Facebook was down for “required maintenance” and should be back within “several hours”. Apparently it is widespread and affects Instagram, too.
I’m imagining the final scene from Asimov’s Nightfall.
Instagram and facebook seemed to have crashed
Yeah I thought I got hacked and I tried to reset my password. Only to find it’s a worldwide thing.
Some early articles on the outage. Both apps are owned and operated by Meta of course.
Downdetector has already hit 352029 outages.
The title says fake boob ocalypse right? Is it just me?
Also, I had finally received the evaluation from my team lead. My lowest score was an 82. My highest was 100. My mean was 90.4 . I went to tell friends on FB about it and found FB not working.
Are we sure this is a bad thing?
Wait, who said it was a bad thing?
I think you misspelled “outrages”.
How am I gonna let anyone know?
Twitter, like the zillion other posts about it there. (That’s how I was assured it was widespread, and apparently I had caught the outage at the very beginning since all posts were less than one minute old (but not lovely).)
Please nobody fix the typo in the header! Faceboopocalypse just sounds so cute!
(I don’t actually have a Twitter account, but if you google facebook down twitter it will show you recent posts–the jokes and memes are already rolling in.)
I didn’t take it as a typo, so it is safe from this moderator at least.
I don’t think it’s a typo. It’s how one would merge Facebook and Apocalypse into a single word.
Well, Facebookocalypse would work too, but the OP is fine.
Is Faceboop the brother of Betty Boop?
I thought it odd that I was logged out, I never log out. Then in trying to reset my password it became evident that the whole thing was down. Gee, now I have to actually talk to people.
I had logged into FB earlier this morning and had left it open, only to find later that I had been kicked off and a message that my password was incorrect. I checked. It wasn’t. I began thinking I had been hacked and was wondering what to do about it when I saw this thread. I’m relieved it’s not just me.
Yeah, that seems to be the common reaction.
