The Fetishization of Black Panther leaders in the black community.

Slaves can consent to a whole, whole lot. If you don’t understand that, nothing here can help you.
BTW, don’t consider this an answer to your question.

Latest I read, there was some fuckup in the DNA analysis. It was more likely TJ’s uncle, something like that.

No cite; didn’t care to get into the whole pissing match again, so, I didn’t save info. Also, could be his uncle, brother, nephew, cat, dunno…

Any theories on the cut of their jib?

Oh, so no vide nice at all. Monticello acknowledges Jefferson as the father of her children in their exhibits and there is wide consensus among historians that he was, yet people cling to this notion that he wasn’t, or if he was the father, that the relationship could some how be consensual. It’s almost like white Americans have fetishized the founding fathers.

There ya go. It’s only in the first post.

It’s socially acceptable for all people in the US to fetishize other groups of people who have initiated much more violence (that we know of for sure) than the Black Panthers.

You introduce the idea that Jefferson is a rapist then immediately dismiss it to launch into some racist nonsense.

First belly laugh of the day. Thanks.

Back to lurking.

Not even close but thanks for playing

Out of curiosity how could a woman withdraw consent from a man who, literally, owns her?

Jefferson could have her (or all her loved ones) literally beaten/worked to death at any time it pleased him; or have her sold to someone who would do so at their own privilege. That was her daily reality.

I haven’t made that argument. I wasn’t thinking of Sally in the OP…Monk made a refutation and I haven’t responded in the contrary.

So: do you have your answer?

Well…there’s a subargument to be made about the acts of those 200 years ago. And those 50 years ago. And the willful dismissal and turning a blind eye to a guy who flat out admitted (Eldridge Cleaver) to raping black women as practice and white women as insurrectionary acts.

I’m not going to list all the stuff which Seale and Newton may or may not have done. After cursory research, if one where to ask I’d lean more towards Seale being a political prisoner and Newton being a POS.

But at the end of the day…yes I’d say ALL “heroes” have have shady aspects in their lives. Ghandi, FDR, Malcolm X…etc…

Why did you even mention the Black Panthers? You could have asked about the fetishization of the rapist Thomas Jefferson without ever mentioning black people. Why didn’t you?

…and then renounced his former acts and reasoning by 1968…

And the assault and ambush of Oakland police officers resulting the death of Bobby Hutton? The stolen car ring in Algeria? The burglaries in 1988?

Did he “renounce” them too?

The first, yes, he did. The second and third? I don’t know.

Ahh. Thanks for the info. And I give Cleaver credit for admitting this stuff too.
