Well, it was such a tough question. Of course, I love all the Beatles’ songs, so whatever I choose for myself would be fairly random. Then there’s the trick of deciding what the other players would choose on top of what they would think of as having been a “big hit” or not. I had no idea.

Thanks, Rebo, for running the feud.

I ended up 17th - not as bad as I had thought.

There are a couple of songs in there that I don’t know. A couple of songs got more votes than I had predicted (Happiness is a Warm Gun, She’s Leaving Home, and Maxwell’s Silver Hammer) and a couple got fewer votes than I had predicted (Norwegian Wood, Hello Goodbye and I Want You (She’s So Heavy)). It’s pretty cool how much people’s preferences differ in ranking the “best” Beatles songs.

I just picked Eight Days A Week because it’s the best known Beatles song that never made the singles chart (because it was never released as a single).

It was in the US, number one in 1965.

I went with my heart rather than my head (“If I Fell”), but my head said “In My Life” and I’m really surprised that only got one vote. Most “best Beatles song” polls I have seen place that one near or at the very top.
