Hell, I managed to do worse than I expected even after seeing the ‘coat’ answers and going “D’oh!”
(At least I was right in my suspicions that the first two answers that came to mind, cumberbund and culottes, weren’t going to get any hits. Not that my final answer was an improvement.)
Culottes was my first thought, too! I figured nobody else would have it, though.
