I’ve been playing the Feud for a few months now and I’ve never seen a special rule other than the no repeated answers restriction. Have there been others?
What would you think about placing a note in the thread’s title, such as “The Feud: State Capitals by notfrommensa (NO REPEATS)”
Although factual accuracy isn’t required in Feud answers, here is a list of Canadian provincial capitals:
Alberta: Edmonton (not Calgary)
British Columbia: Victoria (not Vancouver)
Manitoba: Winnipeg
New Brunswick: Fredericton
Newfoundland and Labrador: St. John’s
Nova Scotia: Halifax
Ontario: Toronto (Ottawa is the national capital, but not a provincial capital)
Prince Edward island: Charlottetown
Quebec: Quebec City
Saskatchewan: Regina (not Saskatoon)
Yeah, I was going to put Saskatoon, but then decided I’d better double-check to see if it really was. I’m going to kick myself if Saskatoon was more popular than Regina.
I “quote” the OP into a regular quote box then delete everything down to question 1 without (oops) actually reading anything. I then erase the questions one at a time as I answer them.
Anyone who’s doing any cutting and pasting is already screwing around with the list in some way, so putting a special announcement in the middle, where it would need to be deleted, isn’t a big deal. Another possibility would be to put it at the **end **of the list – it seems to me that anyone who is doing any version of cutting/pasting/quoting would be not-paying-attention to the stuff above the list, not below it.
When you play often .it is done on automatic pilot. I barely glance at the rules. They are the same for 90 percent of the feuds. When you change rules, do it all in red.
I was thinking about this. If all the rules were inside a quote tag, and the questions were the only thing outside the quote tag, hitting the “Reply with Quote” would leave only the questions. If there are special rules, they could be outside the quote tag along with the questions.
The downside of this is I think it could lead to people leaving the questions quoted in their answer post.
Ok - I’ve started scoring this. We only have 37 qualified entries, believe it or not!
Two people reposted their list, but that is a disqualification, because in order to read about the no-repeat rule, you probably saw others’ answers. Lots of people deleted their posts after realizing the rule, and it wouldn’t be fair to let two people repost their answers.
I’m going to go ahead and score this. I won’t notify the mods to add [game over] until I’m ready to post. There are a lot of posts, and most people will think they’re too late, so we probably won’t get too many more answers in anyway.
It was fairly easy to score. But I don’t think I like the “no repeat” rule. I have to double check and triple check that I excluded “repeat” offenders. (Heh.)
