I’m really surprised there aren’t more Jerry Jones entries for #4. There were a lot of names to go with for the Cowboys, but he spans such a large timeframe that I thought he’d be a great pick.

Like I said in my entry (though I was thinking of Jimmy Johnson, and am slightly surprised that HE hasn’t gotten any mentions), there were so many names from the Jerry Jones/Jimmy Johnson era (Aikman, Smith, maybe even Michael Irvin) that it felt like he’d be crowded out; from the Landry era there’s basically Staubach and maybe Too Tall Jones, if only for the nickname.

There are a lot of other Cowboys who could have been picked, but Tom Landry, and his hat, stand as THE iconic image of the Cowboys. He was their coach for 28 years!

It appears I was the only person who thought Art Modell and Jim Brown were too close to call. Everyone else seems to feel the choice was obvious and unfortunately not the one I finally went with.
