The finer things in life

dozens of west coast oysters (shucked by someone other than moi); a custom brewed beer called ? brewed by Starfish Oyster Bar on Adelaide STreet, Toronto (with oyster liquor in it); one (or possibly) two freshly boiled east coast lobsters and lots of napkins & butter!, failing brew as above, a finely poured Guiness; a really great mystery book or animal story; asparagus with bernaise, cooked just to al dente; a day where’s absolutely nothing to do but sit in a lawn chair with above mentioned food, a really great conversationalist and some sun!

. . .having exactly what you need when you need it. Or:

(in no particular order)
cheddar cheese
Hershey’s Symphony candy bar with almonds and toffee chips
snuggling with the one you love
a nice walk on a brisk, sunny day
stimulating conversation
. . . the list is endless!

Hot water…
good dentishtry…

and shoft lavatory paper.

Sunday dinners at my friends house. We all get together to cook, eat, drink wine and relax.

Having a group of friends that is truly like a second family.

Sitting at the Pub with my group of friends knowing that the theme song from Cheers doesnt even hit the tip of the iceberg.

When my strong, sturdy, manly man looks at me with love in his eye- in one look I know how much he loves and admires me. Its the best!

And it MUST be said! When you come together during sex! THAT IS AWESOME!

Oh, and of course a perfectly made burrito when you’re hung over is like a slice of heaven.

Warming my cold feet on the heater after coming in from the cold.

Chocolate macaroons.

The sound of gusty rain outside on a morning when you don’t have to get up and do anything.

The feeling of going to bed in a bed with fresh sheets.

Spring Day (the first true day of spring, when the weather is beautiful and every single person in the city is outside enjoying it.)

Do you want to live forever?
Cuppa chai with a good book and a soft, comfy somewhere (bed or chair, matters not… unless there’s someone to share with, then definitely bed) to read.

Having the love of a best friend.

Returning that love to them.

Being alone in the woods, and at first everything is still, everything is totally quiet and then slowly everything around you comes alive. Every step from a squirrel sounds like a bull galloping through the woods. The tree limbs creaking as a breeze moves through the tree tops. The smell of wet leaves, and rotten wood. Birds calling to each other, and wings flapping in the air. Breathing the cool wet air and watching the dew roll down a leaf, hanging for a moment on the tip before falling and crashing on the ground. A nice warm fleece pullover and warm comfortable hiking boots. Not having to worry about anything except making it back to your camp before it gets too dark to do a little fishing. Fresh fish, that was swimming in the stream moments earlier, cooking over a campfire. A nice dry tent with a warm sleeping bag. Nothin’ beats it. Can you tell I miss camping?
