Actually his parents are Nigerian, although they may have been naturalized British subjects (I don’t know). If not, then he’s a naturalized British subject, since he’s played on English national youth teams.

So far, four non European, non SA teams have made the semi finals , the United States (1930), Turkey* (2002), South Korea (2002), Morocco (2022). Make of that wjat you will.

*I know part of Turkey is in Europe, most people and most if the land is in Asia.
