The fix was in, apparently

Much like how they constantly claim to be patriots, sticking American flags on everything they own, but the moment the democratic process doesn’t go their way they start trying to shut down the government.

It can never be because their held position is in the minority is always criminality or stupidity working against them.

Everybody knows that America is basically conservative, a center-right country. All real Americans know this, nobody has to prove it, because everybody knows it. So we can be sure that if Dems win any elections, its only because they cheated, flooding the polls with illegal immigrants, offering sane and reasonable candidates. Totally no fair!

Entomology is the proverbial worst job in the military … spraying for bugs … cleaning up filth … [shivers] … it’s like “here’s a discharge, or if you want to stay in we’ll make your life a living hell”.

This surprises me, although I’ve only the four years military service handling classified information. This never happened in my experience. We had two incidents. One was in the break room within the security enclosure, couple airmen chatting about whatever they were working on. Here it was okay to discuss the information of that classification, except that it was also “NOFORN”, or no foreign nationals … sure as shit there was a couple of Canadians there getting coffee. The other incident was when the public relations NCO thought to make something of a yearbook complete with pictures of all the workcenters. I saw the flash and turned to see what he had just done did. I immediately confronted him and forcibly took the camera away. The commotion brought the COMSEC custodian out and he grabbed the camera from me, pulled the film out and exposed the whole roll. Never saw that NCO again and I was asked to be more diplomatic in the future. That incident had to be reported to the NSA. Lot of paperwork listing everything that could have be compromised, as I remember the NCO that signed in the guy lost a stripe … and we spent three days page checking.

The vast majority of the violations and mishandling that I’ve witnessed have had to do with digital transmission of classified data. Someone will put the wrong attachment on the wrong network; fail to encrypt; or even just put something classified in the text of the email (like “the sound signature numbers are X instead of Y”). And most of the time no one gets in trouble – someone will notice and say “you can’t do that!”, and they’ll say “oops” and move on. Or, more frequently, no one notices (or at least no one says anything). Sometimes it gets reported, but this creates such a hassle that folks are probably unintentionally encouraged to not bring it up.

When I saw this thread I assumed it was a pi against all of the stupid conservtiave who are trying to peddle the idea expressed by the OP. Then I saw the name of the OP.

When a black person joins the Republican party he is given the status of honorary white person, as long as he doesn’t get too uppity.

I’m seeing this expression being repeated in the conservative media.

Anybody actually elaborated on the specifics of “The Fix”?

Or is a nudge as good as a wink - say no more!

“The Fix” is that Conservatives have a completely different version of “reality” that has very little to do with ACTUAL reality, and every time they hit that wall, it is obviously a “Conspiracy” against them.

A nudge may as well be a wink, because one thing leads to another.

Yah yah yah.

Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is angling to get the FBI to investigate if Clinton lied to congress. So they’re going to try and play the perjury card again - while, of course, flushing more millions down the drain.

This is from Talking Points Memo, but it’s a record of an exchange from the “emergency hearing” of FBI Director Comey so I’m going to post all of it -

So we have that to look forward to.

Given that the penalty for insecure handling of top secret handling is generally that you are fired (which doesn’t work very well for a Presidential appointment), a case for perjury to Congress is probably a better bet for criminal liability.

Not that perjury was successful in taking out Bill. Unless they can get a case through court before voting season, any perjury proceedings are indeed a waste of time.

As an IT professional working in the healthcare industry, what I’d be really curious to find out is if you were to take any sensitive information in Clinton’s case, and replace it with PHI/PII, and then replace Clinton with any garden-variety executive for a health care company, would what was done get that company and/or the executive fined or charged criminally under HIPAA or other healthcare privacy legislation?

Seems to me that is a reasonable yardstick as to whether or not she did anything worth getting wound up over- in my eyes, the personal privacy stuff ought to carry the same or lesser penalties than classified information.

There have been plenty of cases of companies getting fined for losing PHI/PII information. However, I’ve not seen any charges brought against executives of those companies.

As was stated above, people who actually work with classified information regularly for years actually KNOW what happens when classified breaches an unclassified network. Usually, nothing. Servers get wiped, work goes on. Depending on how high the rank of the person who was negligent is, probably no punishment or administrative actions either.

People who DON’T work with classified information their entire careers and base their opinions on poorly written news articles from people who ALSO don’t know what goes on don’t seem to understand that.

Friends of mine still in the military are now spouting how “In the military that would never fly!” And when I ask “Well, what would happen?” the answer is invariably “They would get paperwork, or reduction in grade” or something similar to that.

Well, that’s fine, but those types of punishments don’t really apply to someone who was the head of a Executive Branch Department, and now who is NOT the head of the department, whose husband is an ex-President of the United States, who has been a Senator, and who is now the Democratic nominee for the Presidential race. Maybe if this whole thing would have blown up when she WAS SoS, she might have resigned, but maybe not.

And has been mentioned in other threads - So what, anyway? If you are going to vote for Trump, this won’t change your vote. Is it going to change your vote if you support Clinton? Doubtful, because then you have to vote for Trump.

Was it dumb and a stupid setup? Sure! But I’ve seen LOTS of dumb and stupid setups for high ranking people. High ranking government people get what they want, only people who have never worked in government doubt this or find it incredible. Even when subordinates point out the folly, the answer is “Thanks for letting me know, now do it” This is not new, nor will it stop going on. They don’t have the acronym RHIP for nothing.

Bullshit. Having her arrested was not part of the game plan in the slightest.

The FBI director came out and read a long frickin’ list of crimes committed by Hillary, then said that she wasn’t going to be busted for them. Seriously, am I the only one pissed off about that? That is so wrong, it’s not even in the same zip code with right.

Did Condi set up an unsecure mail server, then openly lie about keeping secret info on it? I seem to have missed that.

He made it clear they were not crimes. Violations of policy but it was without criminal intent.
When you get appointed Director, you may go and join the witchhunt.
Comey’s statement.

Well, there’s your problem. Whatever the Director read out, it wasn’t a list of ‘crimes’.

And no, you’re not the only one who’s pissed off. There’s a whole bunch of idiots on my Facebook feed who appear to be at least as misinformed as you are.

Criminy.

In Waco, Texas tonight, Ken Starr waits patiently by the phone.

And there’s nothing you can do about it!!!

Oh, except one thing: call her Madam President! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

That didn’t happen.
