The Flash (2023) Looks Pretty Great

I’m so fucking hoping for Ryan Reynolds to show up…

Green Lantern? Or maybe that character in Blade. Is Blade DC?

Marvel.

I don’t know what it is, but I find super-speed shenanigans in movies really bring out the nitpicker in me. (No, you can’t gently reposition a person’s arm by moving it at Mach 10. Yes, I know – mumble mumble Speed Force mumble.)

I so fucking hoping he doesn’t. Can we get a break from this guy in 2023? He doesn’t need to be in Everything.

I’m kinda curious how Barry changing the past means that we have Supergirl instead of Superman. I can accept a lot of huge, unanticipated changes thanks to the “Butterfly Effect,” but how does a woman not getting murdered on Earth change which baby gets loaded on to a rocket on an entirely different planet, several years earlier?

I assume that Kryptonians, like clownfish, can change sex depending on environmental conditions. Caveat: I know next to nothing about clownfish and even less about Kryptonians. But I will die on this hill. Unless I get distracted.

As far as I’ve known, that hasn’t been DC canon but I like it and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter!

Presumably it’s going to be more than just “the butterfly effect of Flash’s mom surviving” considering Bruce Wayne is also a completely different person.

Depending on how much they borrow from the Flashpoint comics, that might be Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s dad, who became a vigilante after his young son was murdered during a botched mugging. But that would ruin the “It’s actually the character from the Tim Burton movies and everything in them is canon for this version of reality” vibe that they’re probably going for.
