The Flash Season 4

I liked how Iris said, “Why do all the villains in this city seem to have names that come out of a comic book?”

This was a fun episode. I liked how they made use of the shrinking and growing tech (yes very similar to Ant Man). I also liked how charming Joe’s girlfriend was (I’m bad with names). Up until now she was very flat and forgettable.

Her name is Cecile. I think she and Joe are engaged now.

BTW, why didn’t anyone mention that Cecile is now a telepath, and so it Devoe. At some point, that may be useful.

Harry’s insistence that “embiggen” isn’t a word: Do they not have The Simpsons on his Earth, or is he lacking a sense of humor? Cisco should have said, “What do you mean, it’s a perfectly cromulent word.”

I thought Harry said embiggen and Iris said that it wasn’t a word?

Yeah, Harry was the one who made the Embiggening Bazooka.

OK, I probably was mistaken. I often am. :o I have to start rewatching the show before I post.

So, maybe the girl-from-the-future is Joe & Cecile’s incipient baby girl?

Seems unlikely, since she’s far lighter skinned than either of them or any of their extant children.

They’ve pretty much given up on having any consistency in Barry’s powers haven’t they? Barry has now gotten to the point where he can basically freeze time and around the world in a few seconds. I’m sure in the next episode he’ll manage to get punched in the face.

He tends to run straight at the bad guy at such speed that all said bad guy has to do is stick his fist out and Barry will run right into it.

Yeah, that bugged me, too. Running pretty much around the world, carrying a pretty damn large guy, in a matter of seconds is silver-age power level.

I didn’t quite get that “movie” ending, unless it’s a horror movie. Take a guy with no money, who doesn’t speak the language, and who has no visa or passport and drop him in a foreign country with no resources – how is that supposed to work out?

Wasn’t it supposed to be a monastery where everyone has taken a vow of silence and poverty (under the implication that he wanted to join)?

Yeah, it was Iris who objected that “embiggen” wasn’t a word. Then they should have had Harry say that it was a perfectly cromulent word.

Barry could have used the help of Leonard Snart and Mick Rory for his prison break. Too bad they’re on the Waverider.

Is Devoe’s plan just to absorb all the bus metas’ powers? One would think that he’d have told his wife about this. Also, he appears to be ignoring Ralph for some reason. That Ralph can change his appearance would go a long way towards assuaging Mrs Devoe’s obvious discomfort at his not looking like the husband she fell in love with.

DeVoe’s plan may have so many different possible paths that Mrs. DeVoe can’t keep up with all of them - surely he’s planned for the possibility that some of the bus metas would have died before he got to them for example. The final scene implies that Team Flash is expecting Devoe to go after Ralph soon. Devoe’s ability to move from body to body and absorb memories and abilities does suggest what his long-term plan may be - to absorb everyone on the planet, with a few humans left “free-range” so he’d always have a younger body to move to.

So, presumably Ralph in disguise as Devoe didn’t go to the Devoes’ house after Barry’s appeal. Didn’t the judge think that was…odd? Did he notice them leaving separately? Did anyone? Because with “Devoe” claiming he heard someone say “framing” about Ralph, presumably the judge thinks that someone else stabbed Devoe. And who would have a motive? Historically, the police look at the spouse first… (And remember, they did present that photo of her kissing Devoe-in-Dominic’s-body.)

Also, the media must be going crazy in Central City. “Get me an interview with Allen and the Devoes!”

I would think a bigger story would be the attempted breakout of several convicted metas, resulting their deaths as well as the deaths of multiple prison guards as well as the warden.

Not Leonard.

I know why they do it, but I always get upset about it. Once again, a bunch of mooks are in the middle of the prison yard that the prisoners are escaping into, including looking in that direction, and yet somehow they get the drop on The Flash. Unless the projectile is super-sonic, he would be able to react between hearing the shot and the projectile hitting him.

Convenient that everyone who learned about Barry’s secret was (supposedly) killed. Yet there was Barry, sipping champagne after being the only survivor of that carnage.
