I couldn’t find if a thread already exists for this movie since the search function doesn’t like all of the small words in the title (grrr).
This movie is in French with English subtitles and is based on the Harlan Coben book of the same name. I saw the movie last weekend and really enjoyed it. It was a fun and interesting ride.
I don’t know how faithful to the book the movie is, since I read the book long ago and don’t remember all of the book details. It is faithful in spirit, though: lots of action, interesting characters (without any really deep character development), believable motivations, and many twists and turns.
I’d have to give it a B+ to A-. What about you?

p.s., the only actor in the movie I recognized was Kristin Scott Thomas speaking (to my completely untrained ear) flawless French.
Excellent film. Probably a 8.5/10 in my eyes. I particularly liked the pacing of it; it held the suspense quite well while keeping the flow fairly steady. I think that one of the keys is that enough attention was given to important details in the plot and characterization to set up some of the finer details of the movie.
I didn’t know who Kristed Scott Thomas is, but I did notice that of the main female characters did have a weird accent once in a while… Good to know that I wasn’t imagining things.
But her french was fairly excellent, most of the time.
It’s really too bad that this kind of patient, intellectual thriller isn’t more widespread, I’d certainly like to see more movies like this one.
Sorry for the double post. (And for the bad grammar in the previous post)

As it should be.
