Either one could have happened anywhere. The caregiver was negligent, or just plain stupid.
But where was the mom while the kid was climbing into the toy machine? Did she lift him up there? Why didn’t she stop him? Was she hoping he could steal something and make a fast getaway? Why wasn’t she arrested for child endangerment? Sheesh! :smack:

Dude, give me a couple of bucks and I coulda got that kid out of there in a minute flat. I am way too skilled on those machines and have a bag of crappy stuffed toys to prove it.
Well, see, the image I had in my mind was Mom running around the parking lot trying to cadge quarters off of passers-by, so she could “rescue my son from the claw-machine.”
