Well, in fairness, I was the one who messed up our first anniversary. But I do have a defense: See, Papa Tigs and I got married in Japan. As in, I flew across the Pacific, landed in Fukuoka in the evening, after having crossed the International Date Line; then first thing the next morning, Papa Tigs makes me get stuffed on a Japanese subway (and yes, they really ARE that crazy!) to go deal with all the fun of two Americans getting married in Japan. So for the first year, I thought our anniversary was April 4, but it turns out it was April 3! Stupid International Date Line. So he was very upset that I didn’t know it was our anniversary on the 3rd, but is willing to accept at least some of the blame for my mixup. :rolleyes:
It’s starting to cool down. It’s dropped 10 degrees in the last couple hours. It was so nice while it lasted!
Today was the longest day in the history of man. To sum up, since I am too darn frazzled right now to go into detail, I subbed as a teacher’s aide today at the local elementary/middle school. I worked with a six-year-old autistic boy in the morning, and with a nonverbal 12-year-old girl this afternoon. Nobody was having a good day, and neither of the kids could tell me why. I got up at 5:30 this morning, and I’m struggling with not going to bed for reals RIGHT NOW.
As for when the newest Lisslar arrives, I say he’ll get here when he’s damn good and ready to get here, and not a moment before.
More deja vu… I have been canceled for the night shift, AGAIN. I do need to go in early tomorrow, but I get to come home earlier then, so it’s all good.
I don’t think I’ll model the clothes–that seems kinda weird… Let me see if I can come up with a pic of the nice new shirt I really like (it’s not my style at all). This is NOT the top–I don’t like the colors on this one (I’m not one for magenta anything), but the style is right. Mine is chocolate brown trim, with cream, light blue and sage green accents–flowers, actually.
anyway, it’s for the library and going out etc. I can wear it with khakis, my new beige cords as well as my blue jeans and dark brown cords.
<note to self> Do not mess with FCM’s chocolate. Luckily, I have my own stash …right over here…

Back from a visit to Dr. Drillanfil. She’s got a great eye for matching up the resin filling color to the tooth. If I hadn’t been there while she was drilling away, I’d have no idea that anything had been done at all - even knowing where it was, the work is invisible. Of course, it’s not invisible to the checkbook.
I love my users, bless their little hearts. (People in** swampy’s ** part of the country will realize that’s not truly a compliment) I often get emails from people that use the phrase “Please do the needful” so I’m used to a variety of approaches to the language, but today, I get an official, all business-like email where the writer actually typed out “y’all said it needed…”

For no discernable reason, Windows decided it needed to re-arrange my desktop. In alphabetic order. I fear my monitor’s going to tip over soon with everything crammed over to the left side. Oh worse… about half of the icons have gone to the generic “file” icon, rather than the icons belonging to the host application or website. grrr…
rigs - I finally had a chance to look at the hiar pics. I like it. It just needs a little taming, but you’ve got a combo Madeline Kahn/Catherine O’Hara thing going on there.

When someone a ‘visitor’ to my district send an e-mail off to all and sundry 3-4 levels above me saying me and my people suck when it was his own lack of planning that was the issue.
And he didn’t include me on the e-mail.
He never mentioned this issue to me in anyway.

Went to dinner, it was crappy. Apparently I have issues with restaurant-made Alfredo sauce. I think I’ll learn my lesson and stop ordering it because it usually seems to end up tasting like white gravy. Blech.
Dessert was pretty good, though. I had a crepe filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce.

I saw this video on one our local news channels today. Get this, the cops thought it was so funny, they turned it over to the news channel. The attempted crime occurred in November and the dipshit turned himself in yesterday. The owner of the coffee shop is the one who did the voice over and music.
Taters I was forwarded the e-mail from someone else who was asking me what the hell was going on.
I took a deep breathe and included everyone else on the reply and stated the facts as they were. I talked to my people and confirmed he was being an ass.
In a matter of minutes I had 2 apologies via phone, an e-mail from the idiot concerned apologising and I cleared my people from the bad name fucknuts had tainted them with.
I am a good manager. Do not throw around random facts about my people that are untrue. Do not keep me out of the loop - I will find out eventually and I will ensure that my people are taken care of. If there is a genuine problem not just your imagination then I will fix it.

The last time Li-Li posted was 1415 EST which is just over 6 hours ago. She might have gone into labor shortly thereafter, and had the baby around 5pm, and just hasn’t had the chance to call haze, if in fact she even brought the phone number with her… hmmmmmm. :dubious:

Sorry for your stressful day, Miss Purl. I take it you’re studying Special Ed (which I’m sure is not what it’s called anymore…). (You’re still in school, right?) I admire people who are able to cope with kids who need special attention. My ability to do so is limited.
Little brother should be here momentarily. He’s flying out of Columbus at some incredibly early hour and asked for asylum. Because I’m a nice sister, I said OK.
