If alcohol is the problem, I’m willing to grope you stone cold sober…

Hah. Thanks, VBob. It’s nice to know someone cares.
I’ve done nothing all day except try to recover from my hangover by lying on the couch and surfing the Dope. I’m trying to decide whether I want a Tylenol or not.
MamaTigs, I’m sorry to hear about your neighbor.
Rebo, I did something to my ankle once - I’m not even sure what, sprained it or pulled a muscle or something - and it’s never been quite the same since. It has a tendency to buckle at times, especially when I’m wearing heels. At the time the doctor said there wasn’t much to be done about it. So much for modern medicine.
Hopefully this will not happen to you.
Message for MamaTigs: Thank you. It was already too late to do anything about it by the time I realized what had happened. I’ll be more careful with the addresses in the future!
The Puppy of Doom has arrived!
She shivered just a bit when she first got here, but has set to her toys, food, water, and poopin and piddlin just fine it seems. All seems well!
Awww. Cute puppy!
Awww adorable puppy
I have ran about half of my errands - washed car, vacuumed car, post office, bought birthday cards for my sister and friend, bought mr ems-to-be Christmas present for when I see him in February, bought my sisters birthday present that I need to mail on Monday
Still to do: grocery shop, clean my house (my bathroom is starting to disgust me), got to Tar-jay to purchase kitty litter so I can change the litter box and also they had bamboo shades on sale so I need to measure my window to make sure they will fit, get gas, research Vegas wedding stuff, start lists for August wedding in the UK
But what I really want to do is take a nap. Which I might just do and leave the rest till tomorrow.
Ohhh, lookie, it’s the Wise Rodent!!! And he brought a puppy!!! Awwwwwwww!
Hi swampy! I was wondering where you’d been hiding. Feel better!
Yay for progress on the TNC front. I hope you’re reading all our posts aloud to him. I’m sure that will encourage him to come out and join the fun. Well, most of them will. And sorry about the broken molar.
Boo on having to work, doggio!
Home from Brother’s. Gifts were a hit. Especially the musical gift cards. :dubious:
We went to Target and had spent them in 10 minutes. (The kids already had very specific ideas about what they wanted.) But they kept the gift cards and kept pressing the button to make the slightly annoying Christmas music come out. Nephew’s team lost their basketball game, but it was fun to watch them. It was the first game of the season. Some of the kids on his team are really skilled, especially at passing the ball. They’ll be working on scoring at their next practice.
I’m tired. Apparently, I’m still in the wrong time zone. It would be nice if I could arrive in this one soon.
Guess I’ll try to get something done so I can be a little more awake…

Awwww! Cute puppy! One of my coworkers says she’s cute, too.
I hope my hair is dry before I have to head out.
To join in the birthday festivities of That Guy and Victorian Heroine.
I know my life is fucked up only because I choose to make it so, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is still fucked up.
To be honest, hanging out with the two of them is not necessarily unpleasant. In fact, most of the time I manage to forget the utter weirdness of our situation and have a good time. Victorian Heroine is a Very Nice Girl and we get along swimmingly. But now and again I still have those moments where I feel like I have a scarlet A branded on my forehead. And then I wonder how the hell That Guy has managed to stay with her this past year without drowning in his own shame. I mean, I barely see her and I still feel like shit - he lives with her, for God’s sake.
And yet, here we are.
Ah, well. If y’all are lucky I’ll have some drama to post tomorrow morning.
Cute puppy!
Apparently my headache was the prelude to feeling totally awful. I now have an upset tummy, am chilled even though I’m wrapped in alpaca sitting in front of a heater with a mink blanket on my lap, and feel like total crap. On the up side, I got a short transcript done today, so at least I won’t end up behind on all my work if I do end up in bed for longer than one night.
But I am now going to go have some chicken soup and crawl in bed, not necessarily in that order. (A bed tray is a true delight.) Y’all behave, now!
Proof positive that That Guy is an A #1 Jerk to me. You are probably not the only woman is messing with–and if not you, than someone else. Once a cheater, always a cheater, IMO. I’m sorry, Hazel, but I do not like That Guy.
I did an hour’s worth of yardwork earlier in the sunshine. I came home the other day to see that a tree had been taken down and they left a small-ish pile of mulch. I wish I had known that they were coming; I would have told them to leave ALL the woodchips. Anyway, I shoveled it and pushed mulch all over the yard to various flower beds. It was nice to be outside.
Nice pup dog.
MamaTig–hope you feel better.
The nap won out…then the gardener arrived and woke me up.
Libby the crazy kitty is now taking one of her carefully planned naps.
I am going out for a couple of drinks with some friends tonight. I have no clue about what goes on in this town as I rarely go out but it should be fun.
Still need to change the litter box. Anyone want to do it for me - I pay good money?
Home from the festivities - totally insane, as things involving my family usually are. Lots of good food, and some interesting conversations. We stayed longer than we intended, but we got home about 8, so I guess that’s not too bad. The critters have been fed, the electric blanket is warming the bed, and I’m having a big glass of water because I’m really thirsty. Which means I’ll be doing plumbing inspections in the middle of the night. Oh well.
My sister brought her wedding album. She was 21 when they got married - but she looked soooooo young! Plus she was skinny back then - not so much now. We did talk to a few family folks about my kid’s wedding - the big issue is getting my mom down there. She hates hates hates to fly, but she can’t be away from home too long, since she cares for her handicapped younger sister. One sister definitely can’t come, another probably can’t, but the youngest will be there, as will my brother. Not a lot of time before the big day.
I’m now officially pooped. It was a long day. But we were able to help Mom out with a few repairs. **FCD ** did the stuff requiring tools and I mended the crocheted cuff of a sweater that had started to become unraveled. Luckily, it was an easy fix - 4sc-ch2-4sc, etc. He replaced a broken cabinet hinge and repaired her garage door spring-n-cable contraption. So he got son-in-law points.
LiLi - I foresee lots of tardiness issues with TNC. You need to be tough and nip it in the bud!! He’s not too young to learn. Nip it in the bud!

I’m tahrd. Time to take my meds and consider sleepy-bye. <yawn>
Blah blah blah
Blah blah blah
awwwwwwwww. puppy!
Arrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I’m taking a Fair Isle class because I don’t know how to knit Fair Isle, you know? So I’m finished with the ribbing, started the plain knitting in two colors and at last, it’s time to start the pattern! Yay! So I get almost to the end of the round…And I run out of stitches. Not because I lost any stitches or miscounted or anything. Because the pattern is wrong. My math skills are not fantastic, but even I can do multiplication in my head. (5.5 pattern repeats X 33 stitches) + 19 stitches != 190 stitches, which is the number we started with. Of course, I should have done the math before I started, but this is the teacher’s pattern. For a class I paid $95 for, plus yarn, we can’t use an errata-free pattern? Apparently, we’re her test knitters for the pattern.   When I’m taking a class, I expect a clearly written, correct, pattern. Now I have to decide if I want to either rip everything out and start over with correct number of stitches, or just take out half a repeat, and have the sweater look off balance…Awww, lookit teh puppy! ![]()
Maybe I’ll go read my required reading for work: The World Is Flat. If I’m feeling really ambitious, I’ll go to Barnes & Noble and buy Fierce Conversations, the other book that everyone read last year and is forever talking about.
I talked to my landlord today about moving into his unit across the street. It’s much quieter and has a usable yard and it’s the same square footage. He’d raise the rent by, oh, $100, since it’s been remodeled in this century. He’s considering putting in a washer and dryer, which would be wonderful. I wouldn’t be moving until the fall, at the earliest.
Aww, that puppy is too cute, SageRat! What’s her name?! Inquiring minds want to know!!
Poor MaMaTigs, it sounds like you have Teh Sick, along with Swampy and maybe even me, cause my tummy has been a bit upset most of the day. That did not prevent me, however, from eating some hazelnut (N.O.H.!) creme wafers I got at Aldi’s, though! LOL Er… maybe they contributed to my upset…ya think?! Nah, I ate them later.
Aldi’s carries some European-brand candy bars, along with other candies most Americans know, btw.
I’ve been sipping ginger ale, but now I think I might make some of those tollhouse cookies. Still got to go grocery shopping in the morning, hopefully before the church people get there (LOL) and before that rain comes in. Nighty!
I worked(boo), I tailgated(yay!), the Canes collapsed like a Hrung in the third period( ).
{{{{MamaTigs, Herbs}}}}
cute puppy, Wise Rodent!
Pierette (female for Pierrot, a clown.)
Hopefully she won’t end up too rowdy over her name.
The puppy is adorable.
Haze, your life really is pretty screwed up. Well, your love life, anyway.
Tooth is still broken, and I am still weirded out by it, and TNC has yet to arrive, although I do feel kind of crampy etc. which is good, and means some progress. His Dad was terminally late for everything until I fixed him, so I’m not surprised the son has issues, too.
Attacks Husband and QD were over for dinner, and just left.
Off to bed to continue my exciting routine of sleeping and lying around.
