The Chicago Transit Authority, apparently with nothing better to do, has created a new rail line by redirecting the Cermak branch of the Blue line over existing tracks. Oddly, the Chicago Transit Board decided to eschew the new line’s original color, Silver, for the more cheery Pink.
Yes, that’s right, the Pink line.
Pink, the color of everything frilly and everything gay. But what’s interesting here, isn’t that it’s*** the Pink line***, nor is it that this queerly named line goes through some of Chicago’s roughest neighborhoods. But that this new line débuts on June 25th.
You heard it! Service starts on Gay Pride! Just in time for the parade!
