Mr. Scott? Is that you?
Yep, it’s the roommates, not the grill. Throw a wet paper towel on the thing and wipe it all off when it’s cooled down enough to touch, put away.
Don’t use it until they’ve gotten ALL the foot off.

Damn, that just reminds me of the wanky shit eating housemate who was most probably the one who lifted mine when I couldn’t pay out the entire amount of money he needed for a bill. Since he was happy to take something worth a fraction of the bill, I left him with it.
Caution: The George Foreman Grill is not intended to be used as a foot warmer.
I hate the frick’n things. No temp control, and they make a lot more mess to clean up. You can’t make a cheese burger either, so it’s a worthless counter hogging waste of space. A non stick pan and lid clean up faster, and I can make a cheese burger, after having toasted the bun in the pan first. All the stuff fully cleans up in less than a minute, before I eat my meal. You can’t make a sauce in one of them either. The pan let’s you make the sauce or gravy for your meat.
I won’t debate the storage space statement, but I can’t see where you get PITA to use. And really no more a uni-tasker than a toaster oven.
Well, maybe a little PITA, but that was before I started covering the pan with aluminum foil. (Pay attention beetches, it’s aluminum foil )
dnooman: No special instructions required for using it. Just put it on for the same time as you would in the oven. And with it on a timer, it’s impossible to forget you’re cooking something and burn it to a crisp.
I make cheese burgers on a GF grill. Wait till the burger’s almost done, add a slice of cheese and lower the lid almost all the way down and hold it there a few seconds. It melts the cheese perfectly.
As for the Presto Pizza thing, it takes up more room than a toaster oven, and only makes pizza. IMO, it’s a uni-tasker. A toaster over can be used to make lots of things. Okay, I can see where you can use the Presto thing to heat up Hot Pockets and stuff like that, but only about a third of the food on the pan is exposed to the heat at a time, as it turns. It seems like it would take longer. A toaster oven is more uniform and efficient. All toaster ovens I’ve had have timers, so nothing would burn anyway.
You know, George Foreman has no fingerprints.
Uni-task = Presto Pizza
Multi-task = workshop heat gun
Aye, aye! I’m going to have mine bronzed.
Add me to the “loving the GFG” list!
I’m not a vegetarian, but I do love Tofu steaks from time to time.
The GFG allows me to press down the Tofu steaks, getting some of that water out during the cooking. It gives them a nice, crisp outer edge…perfect!
I also think it’s great for brats.

My GF Grill has a temperature selector and it works fine too. I did notice last night that the non-stick is peeling in a few spots, so I’ll be looking for a replacement sometime soon. Do none of the new models have a temperature control?
Mine doesn’t have the removable plates and I think those would be an improvement.
I grilled a flat iron steak last night and it was great!
