If these are not the most wonderful snack ever, I don’t know what is. Sweet, juicy, crunchy, plus, if I eat enough they’ll turn my pee orange (so I’ve been told). And, a 1 pound bag has 200 calories. For the whole bag! I can sit and munch 'em for over an hour and not finish the bag, and there are hardly any calories! Bye bye, corn chips. Hello, peeled mini carrots!
(Yes, it’s a Sunday and I’ve got nothing to do. So sue me.)
PLUS they help keep you regular. What’s more, I can eat them without guilt…I am supposed to be eating a low sodium, low fat, low sugar diet. There’s darn few things to eat out there that fulfill those conditions AND have some flavor as well.
Don’t eat too many carrots, you can “OD” on vitamin A. As a child I sat and ate 4 bags of large sized carrots and spent the entire day afterwards vomiting.
There was a really funny Magic Schoolbus episode where Arnold ate a whole bunch of Sea Weedies which eventually turned him orange and it was then they found out it was carrots wrapped in sea weed. I wish that existed for real. It sounds like a great snack.
Sometime take a real, non lathed carrot and peel it with one of those swively peeler things with the two blades that face each other. Then use the swivel peeler to shave the entire carrot down to peels. Then eat the peels one at a time.
It’s amazing how much that time chewing influences hunger level. I’ve only tried it once, many years ago, and I couldn’t even finish a carrot that would have taken a couple seconds to eat in the normal, non-tiny-peels way.
Also, is it just me, or is there a social preconception that if you’re fat and eating a carrot in public, you must be on a diet?
Ben, a fat guy who is on a diet but doesn’t eat carrots in public.
Oh, oh, oh… baby carrots and blue cheese dip. Heaven on Earth. The Breakfast. Lunch, Dinner and Midnight Snack of Champions. If baby carrots and blue cheese dip had existed on Mount Olympus, no-one would have given a damn about that whole “nectar” stuff… Ambrosia, psh. We all know what the real food of the gods is.
