The good news? No one killed. . .

. . .believe it or not.

A plane skids across a busy highway in Teterboro, NJ and smashes into a building across the way.

To show just how evil I am, the first thing I thought of when I saw the news report was that scene in Airplane!

.

Early reports say that one of the people on the plane was injured by frantically trying to inflate the autopilot. The cold weather made her lips stick to the manual inflation tube. Some skin was lost when rescuers yanked her away despite her mumbled pleas.

Teterboro Airport is about five miles from my apartment. I see the planes as they are coming and going.

It is a miracle that a jet could go across six lanes of highway traffic and crash into a warehouse during rush hour and nobody was killed. Two of the injured victims were in a car that had the hood taken off by the plane’s wing. They ducked at the last second.

The news report I read said that a witness saw one of the pilots climbing out of the wreackage. When the witness asked if he was ok, the pilot replied:
“We lost control…”

No shit! Ya think?

I hate to make fun of an unfortunate situation, but since noone was killed, I feel I can get away with it.
I believe it was “Buddy Noone”, the lovable yet evil simpleton from Blood Work who was killed. I never liked that guy.

Maybe the pilot was in shock? No shit! Ya think?

Newark Star Ledger news story. The Bergen County, New Jersey (where Teterboro is located) newspaper is The Record, but it does require free registration.

It’s pretty amazing that the guy who was in this car is alive. (NY Times photo, may need registration).

Can you imagine the call to the insurance agent? “Yeah, I got sideswiped on Rt. 46. No, not so much at in intersection…”
