The Good Wife

Seriously I think Archie Punjabi is an exciting edgy character on the show I am constantly surprised at her antics and her cool reserve. She must have impressed somebody cause she’s been nominated and won a number of awards including an Emmy in 2010 for her portrayal of Kalinda.

People might not be that familiar with her other work because a lot of it is in Europe, but I’ve loved her ever since I saw her in Bend it Like Beckham

I think the character Louis Canning, played by Michael J. Fox, is brilliant. I love the fact that he is cutthroat and doesn’t hesitate to use his disability to manipulate and curry favor with judges/juries, and then goes all wide-eyed, sincere innocence. I particularly love it when he starts his speech about “these random movements of mine…” and Alicia et al. roll their eyes at each other.

WTG, Michael!

The season continues tonight, for those who are interested.

This is my favorite drama. I used to work on getting translations for VOD broadcasts of the show, so I got to see episodes in advance.

I always love the characters, especially the guest ones. I’d love to marry Elsbeth. Can’t believe she got it on with Kyle McLaughlin! Cary is fantastic at letting himself get screwed by doing the right thing all the damn time. Diane Lockhart is a genius. I will miss Kalinda; can’t believe she altered a document to get that weasley judge to finally drop the dumb-ass case against Cary. And David Lee is the ultimate definition of “shark” when it comes to attorneys. The guy will sue his own family.

But ultimately, the show IS about Alicia Florrick. It’s a fascinating struggle with career, family, and politics. The writers really deserve credit. I still think my favorite episode is “Hitting the Fan”, which I believe won an Emmy.

I don’t get to see the episodes in advance anymore, but I’m surprised that tonight’s new episode will feature once again, our favorite slimeball client

Colin Sweeney.

I wasn’t sure of the reason for the Ed Asner guest role.

Was he testing them both? He sexually harassed Alicia, and talked like a sexual sadist to the other candidate. Was that to see if the other candidate is gay? Was it some kinky thing the Ed Asner character does in front of his daughter?

Ed Asner plays a good pervert, though.
