The Grad School Game

A little bit back I asked what people were wearing in Dublin because I had applied to some Irish grad schools…but I also recently heard back from Aberdeen. Only problem is, I can’t tell if it’s good or bad yet.

I received an e-mail which reads:
"Thanks for your application, received safely and approved by me as Associate Director of RIISS You will get the official confirmation before the end of July. I look forward to meeting you. "

What on earth does this mean? Accepted? Interview? Am I expected to fly from Philly to Scotland to answer questions?

It’s July. This is for September, to sit for my MLitt. I’m getting nervous.

It sounds like you were accepted. The same thing happened when I applied to grad school. I was assigned a funding project by a professor before I got the official acceptance letter.

Looks like its an acceptance. My email acceptance from our Graduate Tutor was along the lines of “Call me please - its good news”.

hmm…he followed the initial point by telling me he liked my e-mail addy and his cat’s name…so maybe I’m home free…

I just can’t let myself think that yet, or I’ll lose the will to be a book-slave at work.
