They tried an American version years ago and it failed for that very reason. Unlike the British contestants, who help, cheer on and even cry for each other, the American contestants were just nasty, bloodthirsty and overly competitive. That’s just how we are, unfortunately.
I only remember seeing one guy on the British version who was even close to that. He made it to the finals and we were happy to see him lose.
