The ultimate leverage the anti-Jordanites have is threatening to leave (or vote present, which is functionally the same thing). If ~8-10 of them (I think) do this when a vote is imminent, Jeffries would become speaker. If they really don’t want Jordan, they should tell him they’ll do this for the next vote.

I think the consensus is they want to move on to something else and more people will jump on board with that. That wouldn’t matter. If 8-10 of them aren’t present (or vote present), then Jeffries gets an outright majority.
I think, unfortunately, a lot of people are failing to see this. This whole farce of trying to make Jordan Speaker is only about Trump still trying to manipulate the House from behind the scenes for his own purposes – up to and including refusing to acknowledge a Biden win in 2024, should that be the outcome.
