Mike Johnson is such a joke. He doesn’t like the new foreign aid Bill because it doesn’t include border security.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) preemptively rejected the legislation on Monday night, saying in a statement that the package’s failure to address U.S. border security makes it a nonstarter in the House.
“In the absence of having received any single border policy change from the Senate, the House will have to continue to work its own will on these important matters,” Johnson said in a statement.
I can’t even wrap my head around his supposed thought processes. “We need birder legislation. We don’t need new border laws, the president can do this without new laws. This bill sucks because there’s nothing about border security.” They don’t even try to be consistent in their lies any more.

Reminds me of what I read in the paper just this morning about GOP response to Trump’s most recent NATO comments. Paper observed a several times about how practiced GOP Congresscritters are at simply waving away Trump’s continunal outrages. Quoted Graham as saying something to the effect of, “Are you serious? Which is exactly why Trump should never have political power.
It’s amusing to watch how they are, simultaneously, both so desperate to impeach someone, to prove that impeachment is no big deal (because of Trump!), but are also just so bad at impeaching people. When you can’t even convince your own majority in the House to vote to impeach, there’s something really wrong in your process.

If every other vote remains the same from last time, they only need Steve Scalise (who missed the previous vote for cancer treatment) to show up and vote “yes” for it to pass. One of the Republican no votes was actually a supporter who changed his vote to “no” last minute so that he could later move to reconsider the vote.

Exactly. He wouldn’t accept the first Ukraine funding bill because he said it needed to include border control. When given a Ukraine funding bill with a hearty helping of Republican border wishes fulfilled he said it was a bad bill and unnecessary since the president didn’t need a new bill to enforce border control. So they sent a different Ukraine funding bill and he is refusing because it doesn’t include border control. The man can’t keep his excuses straight and refuses to say the truth. “I don’t want to do anything that would make even one Democrat happy. Now let’s impeach some people, censure some people, name a few post offices, and get home. These 2 1/2 day work weeks twice a month are draining!”
He doesn’t need to “keep his excuses straight”. None of the people who could hold him to account care about the lying and hypocrisy.
