Yep. Mine are underway. I hope I had enough postage to go overseas. I checked, but my broke ass just never knows for sure. ![]()

Atomic Mama, did you find my email? You might have to check your spam folder (although I resent the idea of being considered spam :dubious:).
Corrections and updates always welcome.
I don’t know about you guys but I’m having a blast hearing from everybody and coordinating this. It makes my day to get your messages and updates (yeah, I know, I need to get out more).
I have checked my private messages right now, and I know who the three lucky individuals are
Right now I am in Spain on holidays with my family, and will be back in Holland on August 10. So, I have decided to get some postcards here and some postcards in Holland, so my correspondents will have 2 cards each, from different countries, in exchange for having them put in the mail on August 11 (still within the limit date!)
Sorry for the delay, but I hope the compensation will be satisfactory! ![]()
I will see whether I have any postcards at home when I get back there (as I said – August 10).
All the best!
I didn’t check my mail yesterday and that was a mistake because I looked today and there is a card from Elendil’s Heir! It’s a picture of a fantastic old style train station in Cleveland Ohio. That vaulted ceiling looks like it belongs in a palace throne room.
Thanks EH!
You’re welcome! The Terminal Tower lobby is indeed magnificent: http://images.world66.com/te/rm/in/terminal_tower_lob_galleryfull
My postcards are in the mail, and I have already received my postcard from blondebear, and he has set the bar high. First, there’s a California postcard of the CA driver’s license for Bigfoot (aka Sasquatch, Skunk Ape, and Yeti). Bigfoot is a hair donor, and he can only drive large pedal vehicles. He must also wear corrective deodorant.
Then there was a second postcard that was more like a National Geographic pullout for the Mount Washington State Park in New Hampshire. Not only that, but it’s vintage, because it still had the Old Man of the Mountain in it.
I’ve posted the Bigfoot card at work, and I’ve got the other on my coffee table for regular perusing by myself, the kitties, and any guests who stop by. In the meantime, I am disgusted by the lack of postcards where I live. Bookstores? Nope. Walgreens? Nada. The best I can do is a Dallas skyline, which isn’t even where I officially live anymore. Sooooo disappointed in my town. I continue to look, and when I find any good ones, I will stock up for the future.
Oooh, that sounds great! I’m sure your recepients will be happy to wait to get cards from such lovely places.
Can’t go wrong with the Met: http://store.metmuseum.org/stationery+workspace/notecards-postcards+correspondence-cards/icat/notecardcorrespond#notecardcorrespond?sort=manual&parentCategoryRef=notecardcorrespond&order=asc&perpage=10&q=*&type=postcards&_suid=140717598754000412210699013521
I received a postcard from CheezWhia last week (multiple pictures of ART!) Very prompt. Thank you!
Yeah, well, unbelievably they didn’t actually have any postcards. Fortunately, I live in a touristy city myself, so should be able to secure possibly more boring postcards!
Teuton, I know what city you live in and, given all the history that has taken place there, I strongly doubt your postcards will be boring. Too bad about Legoland, though.
Hope you had a good time there anyway.
Thanks, Karen Lingel, for the update about receiving Cheez-Whia’s “artsy” card.
That is, indeed, an awesome postcard selection. Problem is that I was looking for something locational. Searching for Irving, TX postcards just gets me places that print postcards. >sigh<
I got my local cards from our Visitor’s Information Center. A quick Google search for Irving, TX got me here. Give them a call and see if they have postcards for sale!
Glad to see that two of mine made it to their destinations, and glad that you liked them! The other one is headed overseas, so it will take a little longer to show up.
Antique stores are a great place to find postcards, especially the co-op/collective shops. Some stalls have boxes and boxes of postcards…going through them is like a mini-vacation. Watch out for the prices though…I’ve seen packets like the ones I sent out for $1 in one stall, $3 in another, and $10 or more in a third stall.
Just got three nifty postcards (with a message that continued from one to the next) from silenus. Thanks!
Mine just went in the mail: and I even walked them over to the post office on campus, instead of just dropping them in the office mail pickup so they should actually go out today.
Going the extra mile! I like it.
Ten days to go before they should all be in the mail.
