The guy on the National Bohemian beer lable.

Why does the guy on the National Bohemian Beer lable only have one eye? Is he suppose to be winking or WTF? It’s kind of weird.

Label! Label!:smack:
Christ, I can’t even spell when I’m sober!

Actually that bump on the right side of his face is his nose. His left eye is out of sight on the other side.

All Bohemians are born with their mouths on the right side of their heads. They are understandably sensitive about this and will go into an eight cylinder snit about it if looked at askance, which is difficult not to do.

Actually, that’s One Eye Pete. Old National Brewing Co. logo.

He lived in The Land of Pleasant Living. (Maryland)

I googled “National Bohemian beer label” and couldn’t find anythng, so I came up with an alternate explanation. I assumed you’d know it was a joke. Once again,I should have used my sig,so,belatedly, here it is.

That one-eyed mascot’s name is Mr. Boh. I have no idea what is its relationship to the beer’s nickname, Natty Boh.

Anyhow, from Baltimore Citypaper:

Their brewery is now being turned into a real-estate development, and according to the broker CB Richard Ellis:

There is also www.nationalbohemian.com, which appears to be a bulletin board devoted to the beer’s fans, so you may want to poke around there a bit, too.

I know where that is!

Nah. It’s actually the Pringle’s guy after a freak potato chip accident.

Thanks for the answers AND the laughs, guys.:stuck_out_tongue:

Using my incredible powers(actually a paid subscription to a newspaper database  ) , I found NO advertisements with “Mr. Boh” in them from 1938, nor did his image appear on the labels that year.

In 1940 ads, his face is on the label. He has a “full-frontal” view with his right eye showing, no left eye. He is not named anything in this picture.

He shows up as a "full-bodied figure by 1948 or so. He’s dressed in a tux, and is acting like a waiter. In one 1949 ad I saw, he distinctly had a left eye, no right eye.

He has the name “Mr. BOH” in ads by 1950, but not much before that I saw.

I know this doesn’t help with the OP,
