The handicapped need a space for their Dodge Vipers too, you know?

'punha, I think you should go back to the ‘person who runs naked through threads’ charachter instead of the dumber, more annoying ‘person who always acts like they never get the joke’ charachter.

Come on, baby. There’s a whole lotta whooshin’ going on.

OK… but how does that tie in with bulls? You know, “Lookee there! That bull gourd him!”

Shit, man, I dunno, I’m not Cecil!

So if Mazdas go zoom zoom, I suppose Vipers go whoosh.

Crossing iampunha off the list of possible suspects…

I WILL find out! I WILL!

Yeah, you should, because that’s how I read your post to him in the SUV thread. Rude and uncalled for. I’m not surprised at his attitude towards you at all.

It would be nice, if your e-mail was valid. It seems to have expired…I tried to send you an e-mail to give you a link , but I got it back.

As for the OP, yeesh, I’m under the impression that it was the type of thought people think of but don’t necessarily say. I think I understood what he was getting at. Not to say that I don’t understand where the Scylla bashers were coming from.

chalks this one up on the fence that she’s sitting on

Howzat? Did you feel I was calling him a negligent parent? If that’s the general impression, then I fucked up. As I said above, I was trying to give avuncular advice, trying to keep him from looking like too much of a schmuck in front of his peers.

Now, did you start feeling that immediately, or only after he started whining that he was being called a negligent parent?

Okay first, I only read the OP so if I repeat what others have said I apologize but this statement is so beyond fucked up, it’s unbelievable.

Do you know this person who drives the Viper and is handicapped. Do you know for a fact that he/she lives off disability and do you have any idea how little disability, via government funding pays?

What if it were a person who won a disability settlement (assuming it was rightfully so) and used the money to splurge a little because of his/her accident?

What if this person is disabled, collects a check from the military and was disable due to his/her service but now runs a successful business? Is this wrong?

What if this person has been disabled all of his/her life and happens to have a multitude of reasons as to why he/she has the ability to pay for a nice sports car.

Honestly, it’s none of your God Damned business how or why a disabled person has a car that you dream of having for your own. If the state decides that he or she is disabled and deserves to have a handicapped space then so be it. It is not the state (nor you) to determine if he or she is capable of driving a sports car.

Handicapped doesn’t mean destitute poor soul living in a group home for those less abled. Handicapped means physical ability is impaired in some way. Doesn’t mean that disabled person can’t handle driving a car let alone a Dogde Viper.

Geezus Keerist, what a fucked up attitude.

Now on to read the rest of the posts.

Lolababy:

My email seems to be working fine.

Ike:

How about we try this?

That is how I and apparently everyone else who saw fit to comment upon it saw it, so there seems to be a fair amount of evidence that you did fuck up.

So, instead of calling me a whiner and saying that I’m throwing patented fits (which is a blatant lie. All my fits are strictly freeware in the public domain,) why don’t we just drop it?

You’re criticicism as you’ve clarified it is a valid one. A lot of my recent OP’s have sucked donkey balls. That is however not what came across as being criticized in your posts.

You’ve clarified. Fine. If you wish to leave it at that and move on, that’s fine with me.

On the other hand we could flame each other for five or six pages. What do you think?

One thing in regard to the attacks on Scylla, The point is not that a disabled person drives a cool car. We all agree it makes no never mind to the disability. But this is not just a “cool car” it is a freaking race car.

It would be similar if you had the late Dale Earnhart drive his stock car into a handicapped spot. If Dale was tough enough to drive the car, he would surely not use the easy space.

Not to say the handicapped can’t be race car drivers but the choice of car would give one pause to think. I believe that was all Scylla was trying to get across.

Don’t forget Scylla did not confront the person or key the car he just used this forum to put out his musings. The response seems a bit harsh.

Damn I wish I had read this when it was first posted. I only read page one so maybe my comment was already made, if so, sorry:

Maybe the guy had the Viper before having an accident that required the use of a sticker.

Even if a Viper suggests those things you claim it does, then cetainly a person with an affliction that requires a handicaped sticker deserves to say “Fuck You” to the world.

I have been reading this thread and trying to decide whether to post or not, whether I should just send an email to Scylla.

The reason I am worried about expressing my opinion is that so many people on this board may judge me as a person purely on that opinion, and will probably have misinterpreted it anyway. It scares me that I am worried about expressing my opinion…

My only peeve with this message board is that I think it is sometimes overly PC.

Scylla has a large post count. Lots of people have said that they previously liked him/his threads (or words to that effect). Why has one thread so changed your view of him?

Xploder said:

That is how I see it too. I think major overreaction has occurred.

I don’t think he said anything wrong. I don’t think he should apologise if he doesn’t think he did anything wrong just because people are (probably) misunderstanding him and being overly PC.

I didn’t read the whole thread because it is repetitive (and I may be adding to this repetitiveness). If someone has already posted something similar I apologise.

Blue Curls

can you email me?

ta

Aha. First of all, you may note that while I disagreed with the OP, I did not overreact. I didn’t call for Scylla’s head on a plate. But I did point out what I thought was off with his reasoning. And I shall now point it out in yours (in my opinion, of course).

A person doesn’t “get to” park in a handicap spot. It’s not a perk. It’s a neccesity. While you may very well be pissed at the ostentatiousness of driving a Viper, heaping further scorn on him because he “gets to” use the handicap spot is the height of insensitivity.
It’s like being jealous of someone for hogging the dialysis machine.

See. Not one swear word.

Fucker.

(joking on the last, I hope you know).

Good deal.

Beer’s on me next time I see you.

Yes, I felt you were calling him negligent.

It was immediately. I’ve had people “throw” the same shit at me before.

…and since you guys are dropping it, I’m bringing a keg.

clink

I see why you would think that way.

This is how I see it.
When I see a handicapped spot without a car in it I think “damn, I wish I could have that spot”. But I understand why it’s there. I mean no disrespect because I think that. I don’t envy disabled people.

I was thinking that Scylla was thinking along the same lines. Like I said though, I could be wrong.

(Take it in mind that Scylla was entertaining the thought that the person whose car it was was probably not disabled, and therefore didn’t deserve it.)

Oh, by the way, is it ok if I bring the rum and coke?
