Well she was the director…
We finished it last night and unlike most people, we only started it in March. It was a seamless viewing experience, no gaps at all.
We liked it and the ending was good, but not great. I did say with about 10 minutes left, “Wait…we aren’t going to get to see them save her daughter???”
Are we to believe after they killed all the local commanders in the airplane that other regions of Gilead also broke down?
Good show, probably ran about a season or two too long, but we were happy throughout.
That is interesting, because it lines up almost exactly with a friend’s experience watching Game of Thrones. I don’t know anyone who watched GOT through the years that wasn’t increasingly unhappy with the show’s direction, plot holes, etc. and absolutely hated the last season. My friend started watching it on streaming and I kept trying to temper her enthusiasm because the ending was so bad. She binged the entire thing over a couple of months and just loved it start to finish.
I’ve begun to wonder if the traditional weekly episode release is going to fall out of favor, because it gives viewers too long to think about and dissect each episode, it makes plot holes more glaring, etc. Whereas when you’re caught up in it and the story has grabbed you and you can continue that rush to the next episode, those issues are either less glaring or less important (or maybe both?).
I am glad you enjoyed the show. I might give it some time and then go back and try to binge it - I’m curious if it would change my current feelings about the show.
I don’t think so - they did mention having to bring in commanders from other regions, but not that those areas were directly destabilized. It certainly would create a power vacuum and an opportunity for disrupting those regions more easily.
