The heck are kosher shrimp???

I believe that the word refers to imitation “shrimp,” made from kosher fish.

I (for obvious reasons) have no idea how closely this approximates the taste of genuine shrimp.

Thanks, I was beginning to wonder about the “gills and scales” thing.

I’ve had these artificial shrimp at the Pizza Hut in Haifa, Israel, and they’re not bad. They don’t taste 100% like real shrimp, but they’re a close approximation.

I’ve had kosher bacon (beef) that was perfectly edible, so I can accept fake shrimp. Hell, you can hardly FIND real crabmeat anymore!

I just made some crab cakes Monday night with real crab. Pretty much all the fresh seafood was on sale at Giant, with the real crab at half price!
