I’m looking for a book, YouTube video, or whatever about the history of chess in the US. Surely chess sets were aboard the Mayflower, yes? Or did we just go from Morphy to Fischer to So over the course of a few centuries with nothing else happening? Did the Puritans ban the game? What was the first US chess club?
